1) Remove clutter and trash from your car Head to your car with a laundry basket. Bring in everything that should be inside your house. Then, go back out to the car and gather and throw away any empty soda cans or other garbage.

2) Clean your oven As soon as you get a day warm enough to open your windows, even if itís still a bit brisk outside, clean your oven. Either get the spray-on cleaner or turn on your self-cleaner.

3) Give a little love to Fido Dogs can get depressed from little sunshine and no exercise. When was the last time you made time for your pet? Play some indoor games. Chase the ball up and down the steps. Play hide-and-seek with a favorite toy. In fact, if you have a treadmill, the dog can walk on it. Look online for how-to videos.

4) Whatís lurking under the fridge? I know...itís a big pain to clean under the fridge, but it doesnít have to be done that often. Get the task done this week, so you donít have to think about it for awhile.

5) Freshen blankets and comforters Gather blankets and comforters and bring them to your local Laundromat. Clean them using several washers and dryers. Then get home, put them on the bed, and enjoy fresh smelling covers tonight. Ahhhhhhhhhhh..

___ Flip mattresses. Mattresses tend to wear down as we sleep on them. Flipping them over, if possible, and rotating them will provide even wear and a more comfortable slumber for you. Do this every few months to prolong the life of your mattress.

___ Restock the medicine cabinet. Take some time to check medications, update the expired ones, and restock anything you may be running low on, like ibuprofen, aspirin, Pepto and so on (over-the-counter meds). TIP: Medicines are affected by humidity, so you may not be able to store your medications in a bathroom medicine cabinet. Mine are stored on a lazy susan in one of my kitchen cabinets away from heat sources.

Do you need to get rid of old or expired prescriptions? If so, contact your local health department for the best way to dispose of unused or expired medications in your area. Whatever you do, don't flush medication down the toilet!

___ Wipe down your kitchen appliances. Sanitize and wipe down your refrigerator door, stove top, and the outside of your dishwasher. Be sure to also clean the handles and buttons of the appliances. If you're feeling really motivated, and have an electric coil or gas range, remove and clean the four burner coils and the stove drip pans underneath them.
