You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should! - Desiderata

___ Do you have a chair with a ripped seat cushion, a piece of furniture with a scratch, a pillow your pooch chewed on, or anything else in need of repair? Make it a point this week to get what you need to fix it...and take care of it. Not handy? Make an appointment to have it repaired. Something beyond repair? Consider replacing it.

___ Text your better half...just to say 'I Love You.' Do the same for your kids if they have text message capabilities.

___ Toss mascara older than a few months and buy a replacement. 'A mascara tube is a dark, wet environment--the perfect breeding ground for bacteria,' says New York City optometrist Andrea Thau, O.D. 'Preservatives in a mascara only work for so long.'

1) Having a cold doesn’t have to be the “end of the world” Cough. Sneeze. It’s that time of year! Everyone’s got a bug. Be prepared. Check cold remedy expiration dates in the medicine cabinet, make a shopping list of anything you need to replace, and buy what you need on your next trip to the grocery or drug store. While you’re at it, purchase some good quality honey. When you’re feeling under the weather, a few teaspoons in your tea can make all the difference in the world.

2) Give some love to your vehicle When was the last time you had your oil changed or checked on the condition of your tires? Make an appointment with your mechanic and get your vehicle servicing up-to-date. While you’re at it, make plans afterwards to get the car washed and go somewhere fun with your family.

3) Make a new recipe from an old cookbook The middle of the winter signals doldrums in the kitchen. Spice things up by digging out one of the cookbooks you own, but don’t use. Try a new recipe from it! By the way, if you find nothing appeals to you as you’re flipping through the pages, then it is clutter. Go donate!

4) Revisit an old hobby Have an unfinished sweater you began to crochet awhile ago? Perhaps you used to do some indoor gardening? Winter is the perfect time to revisit an old hobby. Think you have no time to do so? Then your challenge this week is to eliminate something from your schedule so you do have time to enjoy your hobby!

5) Plan for vacation Make plans for summer vacation. Whether you’re traveling far away or staying home, taking your mind off of shoveling snow for awhile to plan something fun can be quite restorative!

Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6 NKJV
