ROSIEJ1942 That's a good idea, unfortunately I'm not up for that challenge, maybe someone else will rise to the occasion.

Have you been looking at my home office?? I actually put a card table next to my desk to hold all of the piles of paper I need to go through. Yes, it is time to actually go through the piles and organize the clutter :)

A scattered, disorganized workspace creates scattered, disorganized thinking. Eliminate the chaos in your home office with this week’s easy mini-challenges.

1) Clear the surface Remove all items and papers off the top of your desk, so you can actually see the surface. If you have to toss everything on the floor or in a box, so be it. Using a disinfectant wipe, clean off the surface including drawer handles. Clean and return the “musts” only, like your desk lamp, computer and its accessories, your phone, calculator, a coaster, a file tray, and your “Daily Files” holder.

2) Clear bookshelf clutter Remove books, magazines, files, storage bins, loose papers, knick knacks, etc. from your bookshelf. Dust off all the shelves and use a dry dust rag to wipe down the books. Consolidate magazines and catalogs you wish to keep into magazine holders. Return books (dust them off first) that you plan to read and reference in the future.

3) Weed out desk drawers Remove everything from desk drawers and weed out unnecessary things like pens that don’t write, scraps of paper, old take-out menus and the like. Wash out the drawers with a wet rag. Return items back into the drawer, separating “categories” with plastic divider trays.

4) Tidy your computer Clean your computer keyboard using compressed air, a micro-fiber cloth, or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush. Dust off your computer monitor and use an appproprite solution for cleaning the computer screen. Finally, take a disinfectant wipe and clean off the mouse and screen remote. (While you’re at it, use that wipe to disinfect your telephone.)

5) Put things where they belong and then grab your vacuum Put away, recycle or trash any loose items as applicable. Then, vacuum the entire room, moving furniture as needed. Don’t forget to vacuum lamp shades with the upholstery accessory and reach up into corners to eliminate cobwebs. www.getorganizednow.com/organizing-c
