You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should! - Desiderata

Always good to remember this.

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Good communication is a big part of being organized. Take our mini challenges this week to be sure you are listening well and being heard. Practice one of these each day.

1) Be a good listener So many of us have so much to say. Sometimes we forget that others also want to get a word in. Be sure your conversations with others are balanced, and when the other person is speaking, listen carefully. Be sure to acknowledge what the other person is saying by nodding, smiling, and making vocal affirmations.

2) Donít interrupt Give the person youíre speaking to a chance to complete his or her thoughts, without interruption. Donít talk over people. If you disagree, wait patiently until the person is done speaking, being sure youíre listening to and contemplating the other point of view, and then respond.

3) Ask questions If youíre not sure what the other person is saying, repeat back in different words and ask the person if youíre understanding what he or she was trying to convey.

4) Be honest and say what you mean to say Donít expect the other person to read your mind or figure out a puzzle. Think about what youíre saying before you speak so you can make your point as clear as possible, and consider a way to say it that will result in the best possible situation. Always be honest in your conversation, otherwise, your words may come back to haunt you later.

5) Confirm your points If youíre communicating a lot of points to the other person, summarize the main points at the end. If those points are something the other person has to take action on, in some cases writing those points down prior can help tremendously. If someone is giving you something actionable to do, always take notes. www.getorganizednow.com/organizing-c
