Cool list! My husband and I downgraded our cable on Monday and will be saving $70 a month because of it! I'll keep an eye on other expenses as well, and maybe look into how to make an automatic deposit into my 403(b).

I'm 4'10.5". A normal BMI for my height tops out at 121.

emoticon I use Rabbit ears and have a converter box for my older tv set. I do tend to spend a bit too much maybe at a thrift store at times though, but, something nice is worth it for a dollar bill.

Best way to save money…spend less than you earn! This week’s mini-challenges focus on your budget and how you can save money.
1) What expenses can you eliminate? Make a list of all the expenditures you’ve paid in the last few months. Determine what expenses you can eliminate or cut back.

2) Start saving Deduct a fixed amount from each paycheck and immediately put it in the bank. Even $10 to $20 per week can add up. If you can save even more each paycheck, go for it!

3) Needs versus wants Consider and research lower-cost options to meet your needs. For instance, is basic cable enough versus paying more for the premium channels? Do you absolutely need a new purse, or can you get by with your old one?

4) Don’t shop without a list and don’t go hungry Grocery shopping without a list and/or grocery shopping when hungry, will nearly always end up in you spending lots more. Planning meals and writing a grocery list helps ensure you buy only those items you need, prevents duplicate buying, and gives you time to search for coupons.

5) Carry cash Avoid using your credit and debit cards by carrying cash. When the cash is gone, then it’s gone…no more spending. Take out the amount of money necessary for one week, the weekend, the dinner, etc. www.getorganizednow.com/organizing-c
