I love these checklists you've been posting! A great way to break down a little work each day that will add up to big organization overall. Thanks!

That's such a great idea for Lent! I didn't give anything up this year but added a daily study as I need to get back into a spiritual practice.

I like your plan. I'll be looking for it on your page. I, too like to do something for Lent. I make it about becoming more fit, physically as well as spiritually.

I have a checklist (of sorts)for march and most of April. as well. I am very religious and every Lenten season I give up something and add something like meditation or extra bible study all in search of spiritual growth. Last year I gave up television and added patience needed activities (gigsaw puzzles and brain teasers, etc.). This year it is 40 days of organization. I will give up my time to organize my life. Thursdays are my busy day, home only 9 hrs (including time to sleep). I plan to clean out drawers on Thursdays. Everyday no matter what, I will give up my time in the pursuit of organization and cleanliness is next to Godliness. I should add in I am a pack rat and borderline hoarder. There is way to much in my house. Yard Sale is mid May. It will all be gone, One drawer, one closet, one box at a time for 40 days. If you have ever read the bible or heard a Sunday School message, you should know what kinds of things can be accomplished in 40 days. If anyone would like to see my list, it will be on my page (blog) this weekend.

As we walk though this garden, that some call life there are many paths and ways to go. There is always someone there to help you along the way some may force you down their path or help you find your own. No matter what path you take there is a key in the garden. You must find it to survive!

That's quite some organization list LHLADY. I was happy just to get the floor picked up and vacuum. Good luck with that!

March 2014 Organizing Checklist by Maria Gracia www.getorganizednow.com

____ Mar 1 List your Spring Cleaning projects. Spend some time planning your projects inside and outside that you would like to accomplish this spring. Write them down.

____ Mar 2 Pull out some board games and spend time with your family. Turn off all electronics and enjoy family time around the table without worldly distractions.

____ Mar 3 Plan and cook some freezer meals that can be popped into the oven or crock pot for those busy March nights.

____ Mar 4 Clean the inside windows in all the rooms, or at least one room. Vacuum out the window tracks and use an old toothbrush to loosen any stubborn dirt.

____ Mar 5 Evaluate and organize your bill paying area. Take an inventory of all your supplies and restock if necessary. File that pile of papers, shred papers that are no longer needed, and enjoy having a clean, uncluttered area to take care of your finances.

____ Mar 6 Wash your kitchen cabinets. Mix a bucket of hot water with a few drops of lemon essential oil or your favorite cleaner, then wipe down the cabinets and doors. Rinse with clean water, dry, and enjoy the shine.

____ Mar 7 Clean the inside of your kitchen cabinets. Wipe down the shelves, replace the liners, and reorganize the contents. Donate items no longer used.

____ Mar 8 Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed, since tomorrow is Daylight Savings Time.

____ Mar 9 Gather the family and write letters to grandparents or other family who live far away.

____ Mar 10 Take some time and do maintenance on your computer. Run a virus scan, defrag the hard drive, and delete any programs you no longer use or need. This will help your computer run better and faster.

____ Mar 11 Clean your front porch. Sweep away the debris, cobwebs, and winter dirt. Wash the door and glass, if necessary, and replace the outdoor light bulb. Wash or replace the welcome mat and add a springtime decoration to add brightness to your front door.

____ Mar 12 Call and schedule an appointment to have your central air or air conditioners inspected. Summer will be here soon and you’ll beat the rush.

____ Mar 13 Take some time to relax and pamper yourself. Go for a walk, get a massage, or sign up to learn a new skill. You will be a better spouse, parent, or friend by taking care of yourself.

____ Mar 14 Change your smoke detector batteries and the furnace filter.

____ Mar 15 Wash the car, inside and out. Then, go out on a date with your spouse, child, or friend.

____ Mar 16 Prepare a notebook of ideas for a summer vacation. Let every family member make suggestions on what they would like to do and see.

____ Mar 17 Happy Saint Patrick’s Day. Read Green Eggs and Ham to your family, and serve green eggs and ham, green milk, and green toast for breakfast.

____ Mar 18 Clean three light fixtures. Remove the bulbs and wash the fixtures in hot soapy water. Replace them once they are completely dry. Replace any burnt out bulbs. Enjoy the bright light.

____ Mar 19 Clean out the refrigerator. Wipe down shelves, walls, and the door. Throw away outdated items and replace those items you need.

____ Mar 20 Happy First Day of Spring. Take a trip to the nursery and plan your garden and flower beds.

____ Mar 21 Clean the laundry room. Remove empty detergent containers, wipe down the washer and dryer, vacuum the lint trap, empty the garbage, and replenish any needed laundry supplies.

____ Mar 22 Have a picnic. If it is still too cold to have one outside, have it inside. Fix picnic food, spread a blanket in the family room, and enjoy.

____ Mar 23 Clean your roof gutters. Then, get out and get to know the neighbors.

____ Mar 24 Flip the mattresses. Rotate and flip all the mattresses in your house. This will help your mattresses last longer. Sprinkle a mixture of baking powder and essential oil of your choice on them, and then vacuum them. Enjoy your fresh mattresses.

____ Mar 25 Choose a room and wash the walls, baseboards, and doors.

____ Mar 26 Organize your linen closet. Clear out anything which doesn’t belong. Fold sheets and place the set into the matching pillow case, and organize them according to bed size.

____ Mar 27 Sort through winter stuff. Wash and dry the winter clothes and then pack them away in a tote. They will be ready for next winter.

____ Mar 28 Remove your shower heads and soak them in vinegar to eliminate the hard water deposits.

____ Mar 29 Prepare your yard. Gather your family outside and gather up any leaves, branches, weeds, and other debris left over from the previous year.

____ Mar 30 Take down your storm windows and hang your screens if applicable. Then, take a family walk and see the signs of spring.

____ Mar 31 Make up next month’s meal plans.
