Let’s get ready for Halloween! This week’s mini challenges will give lead you down the right path. (None of these work for me, but maybe they'll be an idea for some of you.)

1) Purchase treats This week, pick up enough treats for the trick-or-treaters who will be arriving at your door in a few weeks. Place those treats in bowls and have them all ready for the big day.

2) Get costumes finalized Finalize costumes for anyone in your family who will be dressed up for trick-or-treating or Halloween parties. Be sure you have all the pieces and accessories you need, whether you’re buying them or making them yourself.

3) Make family plans Halloween season is extra special when it includes a trip to the pumpkin patch, a hot cup of apple cider when apple picking, or a family hayride. Make plans to do something fun, that reminds you of the season, this coming weekend.

4) Rent some spooky movies Plan on renting some spooky movies or borrowing ghost stories from your local library. These make for a fun, seasonal afternoon or evening with your kids and/or better half.

5) Determine your town’s plans Each town does trick-or-treating a bit differently. In my town, trick- or-treat is always the Sunday BEFORE Halloween between the hours of 1P and 4P. Those who plan to hand out treats are instructed to turn on their porch light. Find out the rules in your town, and get any necessary dates and times in your calendar.

Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6 NKJV
