You are right both men did...it was a reinvention. The hula hoop was actually an ancient invention by the Greeks. The ancient Greeks used unusual materials like bamboo, metal, grasses and even vine. Thank you Mamabee480 for participating and giving the wining answer.

My hoop falls a lot. Well, I've heard if you bend down when you feel the hoop sliding down. The very act of it will make the hoop stay in place. What I do is start turning when i feel the hoop going down. Please share some more tricks.
