I lost 4.1 lbs., during the challenge time and 1 more lb. in the next few days. So I reached my goal, just not within the exact challenge time. I'm happy.

I've really increased training with my upper body. Especially my arms...I'm still not to comfortable wearing tank tops, but I'm getting closer emoticon As far as my weight lost I'm now emoticon 6 pounds; however 3 of the pounds really don't count because I gained them prior to starting the challenge so I don't really count the full six because I set myself back a little. My goal by the end of our challenge is to drop a total of -10 pounds, this way I would have lost what I gained plus dropped emoticon 7 pounds. So my overall goal is 187 emoticon My fingers are crossed!! emoticon

GoingToDoThis I'm impressed with your 45 min of interval training. I haven't been able to get myself to do that for years.
I'm highly motivated right now as I'm pre-diabetic. If I lose 10% of my weight I stand a higher chance of not getting diabetes. Tomorrow is my first vacation in 2 years, which usually means weight gain for me. Hoping this time it's different.

Ok, ladies. I am not off to much of a start here. I went to my family reunion. I did manage to get in two workouts but I also managed to gain 2 lbs. I also missed doing strength training. OK, RESET! Back at it this week.

@FINDYOURFIT - I did something similar - ate lunch at 11:30 and got home from work at 8PM. By the time I cooked dinner I was ravenous and ate 1.25 cups of spaghetti with my daughter. Though I stayed within the calorie limit, when I checked my carbohydrates it was 202 for second time this week. I am pre diabetic and trying to stay at 150 carbs or below, so I'm a bit upset. Today is a new day and emoticon

8/6 Calories -1369 Exercised 30 min (no strength training) - Calories burned 46 (I can only walk 28 MPH on crutches for 15 min, then did 15 min of stretching/PT exercises. Doesn't burn many calories but it's a start.)

My total calorie for today was 1600 calories. Went over my limit today! What's worse is that I didn't get a workout in but it's all good! I will beast it out today! How I messed up was by skipping meals....I got so tired and drained for I didn't eat since 8:00 a.m...so from skipping meals "not on purpose" and having a extremely busy day I got a Chik - fil- a combo not thinking about the calories! I looked at the calories after I ate it and saw it was like 1100 calories!! So not worth it...It's all good the reason why I'm a little upset because today was not my cheat day; however I'm dusting it off! I will not make this same mistake twice! emoticon

This challenge is really motivating me. When I was food shopping last night, I had planned to buy myself a small "treat". I found I didn't want it (this hasn't happened in many years)! Also, I increased my strength training and it felt good. I am walking with only 1 crutch now!

Hello Team!

Wanted to check in I've been doing well with staying within my range! emoticon

8/5 Total Calories: 1333
Total Fitness: 330 Calories Burned
Total Calories in all: 1000

For my workouts I'm slightly drastic for I have Hypothyroidism and have to push myself so darn harder but it's all good I'm use to it. I'm doing good staying within my range and haven't been hungry or in starvation mode.

Break: 1 Serving Oatmeal & 1 Green Apple emoticon
Lunch: Lean Cuisine & Greek Yogurt emoticon
Dinner: Veggie Burger emoticon

I had one cup of green tea!
Working on increasing my water!

I love cardio and walking. I get really lazy when it comes to weight lifting.

I have used cardio bands and I have all kinds of weights. I started my journey strong late May with a trainer who emphasized the importance of doing weight training/strength training. Also, I noticed that my legs were getting weak and going up and down stairs was awful. Not, I can't believe the change.

I am starting out now at 199.6. I would really love to drop 10 lbs by September. But if I can become consistent with the weight training, that would be a win. I am beginning today, as well. I did 20 mins today.

Yes strength is awesome! Have u guys tried ankle weights or resistance straps for your arms? sveletemom I know you may have to wait on the ankle weights for a little while longer. I really love them! They give you cardio and strength at the same time! For instance, when I first started working out I started with five pound ankle weights than after three months I increased it up to ten pounds. So basically if I'm walking, doing leg lifts, or even some Brazilian butt lift exercises I have them strapped on. Before I incorporated this measure I was at 216, after about 2 months close to 3 I dropped down to 197, for me that's good because of the hypothyroidism condition I have.

Also my weight now is 199, yet all the toning and strength training doesn't reflect that. How i look now at this weight versus ten years ago after i had my daughter is night and day even though i weighed exactly the same.

Strength training blended with cardio is magic!

Great! I'm trying to add strength training to my workouts too. That's 3 of us on Team B, so far.

This will be a real challenge for me for on crutches, as I find it hard to lose weight if I am not exercising strenuously. (This is my 2nd week of weight gain.) I hope it's ok with you both if I do my check-in daily instead of weekly. I think it will help motivate me to stay on target.

8/3 - Starting weight: 134.9, 1212 calories eaten, 25 min. of exercise (pushups & stretching)

Hi Sveltemom!


It's what you feel comfortable with. What I take into consideration is once exercise is incorporated we are more than likely to drop well below our calorie range regardless. My mindset is always on "less calories in" and "More calories out" and pushing the bar a little has helped me tremendously. emoticon

I'm interested in joining the challenge! My concern is the same as KARMEXO's. SP lists my calorie range to be 1677-1977. When I eat less than 1677, my nutrition report says I went under my limit and it could slow down my weight loss. I'm open to doing it anyway, if that's what we decide.

I've created this team for those who have been successful at dropping the pounds, but may experience a few hiccups here and there! A few of the goals I have for this team is:

#1 To work out at least five times a week for at least 45 minutes per workout.
#2 Be sure to include at least 10 minutes of strength training into your workout. emoticon
#3 Continue to write down what you are eating daily to stay within your calorie goal.
#4 If you have lost focus tell us why? It's so easy to fall off and than have to hit reset and start all over again!
#5 Stop by weekly and share your inspiration or give us a recap of your week!
#6 Help and support our members in our Team A Forum!!
