Finally got my sodium in check. I've had three rough days this month but thankfully I was able to get back on track. Sodium is so easy to overdue on especially when you order pizza. :(

I'm doing well with two, three and four but once again I had over my sodium range. That's three times this month. Not feeling horribly about it but know I must do better.

Hi Cyipra,
I am a sugar addict and my binges start with sugar. I've discovered if I give up these binge foods, I can control my compulsive eating much better. They are cookies, candy, ice cream, doughnuts, soda pops, cakes, pies etc. I also do not eat sugary cereal. I don't add sugar to any foods I eat but I have a few that have sugar such as my fiber bars. Hope this help and if you take the challenge... wishing you the best.

Hey Carmel,
What is your sugar fast? Have you removed sugar from everything or are not adding sugar. Please share maybe I can do this for a month. Except Christmas maybe

Stacy has posted her December goals. My goals is to focus sharply on what I am doing, especially what I put in my mouth. What are your goals I can only focus on three, so here goes:
1: Be mindful of food intake, sty within my calorie count
2. Be mindful of exercise, strive for a minimum of 20 minutes per day
3. Be mindful of stress, get enough rest nd relaxation during this time of heavy socialization.

Usually I am more on top of it. This year has been difficult for us. Someone very close to me died this year and it really has been a struggle to feel focused on anything but getting through each day.. or being there for those loved ones left behind. There are so many things I want in the new year but I think what I want most is to become better at connecting with people and creating lasting friendships, doing instead of just thinking of/talking about, living consciously rather than drifting from one experience to another and finally but of great import... sticking to my spark people program this year and letting it grow into a lifestyle. If I could do these things... regardless of what life brings next year, I will be a better person and more equip to handle life. I wish all of you happiness and love in the new year and the ability to meet challenge and rise above!

I have to agree that I am much more successful when I set specific short term goals. I think I get lost in the attainability of larger goals and I don't get reinforcement early or often enough. My team leader for BLC turned us on to one little word--google it. I am not joining the official class. I am thinking of a way to tie my word (still waiting for it to choose me or jump into my mind) and monthly mini goals. If resolutions worked for me, I would be a size 6, wealthy and volunteering with a dance company. Oh yeah, I would be a snowbird--winter in Florida, Spring and Fall in Boston and New York and summers in Maine. I can dream if I want to, so there.

I set SMART goals for the year...no resolutions..this year I plan to break my bigger goals into even smaller chunks...for example, a short term goal would be to lose eight lbs while the mini goal is to lose 2lbs a week...sounds like a lot and redundant but it might help me stay focused...

I haven't made a New year's resolution in years. I usually don't stick with it. Even when i make my "goals for the year" (which, I quess, could be a resolution), I end the year realizing that I have not accomplished any of it. Instead of yearly goals, I go for mini goals--perhaps monthly--that are more attainable, so at least i feel as if I have accomplished something. I also find that i have to be really specific about my goals, or else they will never get done. Mainly, i just have to push my self to do what i have to do.

ok, did 95 minutes of exercise today (65 cardio & 30 mins ST) and have had the 8 glasses of water already; one veggie already (green beans) and one more to go.

Great idea for ending the year! Thanks.

Okay, ladies..... It's the end of the year and the weather has been very nice to us. Let's go out this year with a bang. Three tasks for each week.

1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
2. Add 30 minutes of exercise
3. Add 2 veggies to your food daily.

Go!
