KT, *you* are allowed to gain 2 lbs as it's going to such a GOOD cause. emoticon Before you know it, she'll be here, and your weight will start a downward slope.

I've not done so well. In fact, I gained 2 pounds SINCE Christmas (the days following were my WORST). No baby yet. Stubborn child...

Wondering how things are going for you, KT...

* * *

Well, I've done a poor job of it this month. Probably my worst offense was lack of exercise; I came up short on minutes the last 3 weeks. :(

On the bright side, I may have figured out another reason for the gainback of 14 lbs these last few months. And I hope it won't scare anyone from trying this wonderful product as it does an incredible job of balancing hormones, improving mood, decreasing endometriosis symptoms and for most people a loss of weight, especially belly fat. It turns out that I am one of the odd few who gains. This is a lesson in the importance of having your hormones checked before supplementing. It seems I probably did not need the extra progesterone; perhaps it made my body think I was pregnant -- can't believe how large my tummy area has become. Anyway, I stopped taking it this past week, and will have to work very hard to get back to where I was in late summer.

I hope you all will join me here on the East Valley team to really get rocking in the new year to achieve our weight loss and health goals!

I lost the rest of my plug last week. I've also lost a few pounds over the last week. As if I have a say, it would be perfect if she started to come Friday afternoon. That way I'd get through all the stuff this week (interviewing pediatricians, getting our carseat check, company Christmas lunch) but she's here before Christmas Eve. I know I'm crazy. ;o)

Oh, I'm so sorry you have to go through that again...and they will certainly do it again when you go to the hospital. Is that where you're having the baby? You're right though, they don't usually check that early. Hang in there, just focus on breathing through the exams. IN and OUT -- good practice for labor.

Are you checking your weight regularly? I always lost about 2-3 lbs the week before giving birth. That and the mucous plug were always my signs but active labor was always a long time coming even if it was near the due date.

Every 6 minutes, except for Thursday morning when they were every 3 minutes. I was supposed to have my appt today but the doctor is sick, so I'm seeing a different doc tomorrow. Hopefully she'll check me (they don't usually check until 37 weeks and I'm only 36) and find out I've dilated more! Of course, that means another exam...I could cry over those stupid, excruciating exams. Give me contractions any day!

I haven't been walking either, very naughty of me. Blamed it on losing my gloves but now I think I know just where they are. Of course, it's not this afternoon but I have to have my hands covered in the morning or at night.

So the contractions are still coming? How exciting...your body is getting ready. Amazing how it knows what to do. I'm praying that when it begins in earnest that you have a very safe and smooth delivery. Keep up your nutrition, you have a big job ahead of you to do.

I haven't been walking... :o(

But I've been doing housework between contractions!

My calories have been really good, too!

Quiet time...hmmm...

Oh wow! Did I know this and forget that your expecting?! emoticon LOL, I am so excited for you, a baby is on the way and soon! Nice to know that the process is beginning but I am praying that baby has a few more weeks to grow and develop. emoticon How very wonderful, each of my pregnancies and births were the highlights of my life. Praying also that everything goes smoothly and well when the right time is here.

Be sure and keep up with the Kegels and pelvic tilts. Walking is always good. emoticon

My goals might get a little off track:Last Monday (34 weeks) I lost at least part of my mucus plug. Tuesday, though, the doctor said my cervix was still closed. Just after 2am this morning I started having contractions every six minutes. I called the doctor, and she told me to go in. I got to the hospital sometime before six. I was dilated 1 cm and 60% effaced. After an hour of regular contractions, I hadn’t progressed, so they sent me home. Long story short…No baby yet, but we’re getting close!

CALORIES: Have made some progress in logging, and when I didn't I at least wrote in the 'quick notes' what I ate.

CARDIO: Slightly less than normal except for the hours I spent gardening. Yep, while everyone was buying trees and ornaments, I was at the cash register with plants and dirt.

QUIET: Still sadly lacking here but I have started this week with an old devotional so at least had 5 minutes.

We may be off to a slow and squeaky start but that's no reason not to keep going, right? Let's get sparked! emoticon

Anyone is welcome to join us at anytime -- consider it a gift for Christmas to yourself, a gearing up for the new year...

Just counting calories would be a challenge for me. I start off good but usually go off track when trying to log difficult items like casseroles.

Increasing cardio is a must! I'll go for that!

And totally with you on the 'mental practice'. I've done very little prayer, meditation, quiet time and I'm afraid, it shows in my attitude and actions. Then I get too caught up in the world instead of focusing on the more important things of life, e.g. family, home and even the projects I've left untended.

Maybe each person could take these three:

calories
cardio
quiet time (meditation, prayer, etc)

...and tailor them.

If we put them in our signature, it'll be a reminder when we post of what we are being challenged by this month.

Any feedback? thoughts?

The challenge is open to all!

For those of us struggling to get our daily calories in check, something like eating 100 fewer calories a day could be good!

Increasing our cardio by 5 minutes a day would be easy to work into the holidays but would add up to a lot of calories!

Oooohhh...what about getting in our mental practice - meditation, relaxation, "me" time, etc. That's what always falls by the wayside during the holidays and causes us to make bad choices!

Any ideas for a December challenge? something to keep us on track amid the holiday fare and busyness? I don't mean to spark competitiveness at this time but something to challenge us individually. Reporting in to each other provides accountability. emoticon
