You have to be careful it is easy to hurt yourself lifting weights. I broke my wrist and did nto do any heavy lifting for a long time. Now I am trying to get it stronger and I sometimes overdo on the weights. You want muscle fatigue not soreness.

My name is Laura and I live in Wisconsin. I am a Powerful Prism Panther.

You are Correct Intend2lose. But do keep in mind to listen to your body and only move to your comfort zone. I had shoulder surgery and it took less then a week to be able to move my arm over my head but I still have trouble with weights, surgery was almost 2 years ago. So just make sure you are comfortable with the movement.

One of the things that was emphasized to me after I was seriously injured in a three car accident was that I could not be immobile. Even though all movement caused me a lot of pain, it was explained to me that my muscles were going to have to re-knit, and if I were to be immobile that they could reattach in the wrong fashion, and that would cause me severe problems for the rest of my life.

Walking is the number one thing you can do for exercise. If you have to pick up anything at all, squat to pick it up. If it's over 15 lbs, don't lift it right now. If you have a yoga tape, try to use it to help you remain flexible and to help your muscles as they heal.

I know that God will not give me anything that I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. - Mother Teresa

First don't lay down.
I exercise with walking and keeping my back upright and not twisting it to turn round.

Bending is the problem as you have done it before you realise it.

Depending on what you have done to it a few days should see you ok again.

Other may have better advice but this works for me.

Good luck

My dog pulled me over yesterday and hurt my back. It's feeling very tender and I am worried about doing the videos and hurting it more. How long should I rest it for? I can still walk which is a good thing, so I will continue with that to at least get some movement in.

Advice very much welcome.
