Although I started late in the week, I still worked hard and lost 4 pounds. I am so proud of myself. I have yet to log it but I just thought i would mention it. Man this is very difficult but I am bound and determined to get healthy this year.

Awesome job everyone, we are on our way. emoticon

I did better in last week as a trial run than this week. I haven't been prioritizing the need to exercise. The only way I will get exercise in is if I get up with my husband at 5:00 and take 30-45 minutes to do stuff. I know that Monday and Tuesday would be great days to walk on my lunch. So I will try.

Week one is finished and I'm looking forward to week 2.

Some of the videos were a bit tricky for me as I am not very coordinated and also have bum knees and a bad shoulder. I did what I could tho' and I'm down 1 pound. emoticon
I'm also getting in about 30 minutes or more of cardio each day....low impact aerobics.

I have been tracking my food when I was near the computer. (Missed the weekend, as I was not home) Will get back to tracking in the morning.

Good luck to all on week 2.

my week 1 officially is done now! Next week will switch video 7 with video 6 since I have an abs/cardio class the next day and need the abs to recover for class. 1 pound down (after big family taco gathering last night)...still it's progress and a start. Now on to the new week.

Hi! My name is Sandy This is new to me and I was afraid to post any thing. I am 59 and am trying to fallow the rules. Some time I think my way is better and gain back the 1or2 pounds I have lost. This challenge is fun and I hope to stick to it.

Wow...after reading all these sparkmails I am so looking forward to next week. Since today is Sunday and a day of rest for us, I won't be exercising today, the Lord's Day. But I am eager to get going tomorrow morning at the gym!! This past week was sort of hard to get started for me due to things and travel coming up that I hadn't planned on but I was able to get some time when I could and I enjoyed so much. Just learning to be consistent is my main challenge right now and this challenge is helping more then you know!! Apparently I like a challenge! emoticon

Week one is over down 6 pounds but need to work on food intake most days didn't get up to calories needed. Find it hard to eat three meals a day use to eating only one and lots of junk. The headache I had at the start of the week has gone...so that means the sugar with drawl is finished so I am grateful for that. I thank Sparks and all its members for being with me this first week. Lets go team lets go. PS some of these video's are hard for an grandma to do.LOL

YAY! Week 1 has come and gone.
I've been consistent with measuring, weighing and tracking my food as well as daily walking and exercise. Intervals really work well for me!
And I'm down 1.4 pounds!! That is a huge challenge to overcome for me as I don't lose it easily!

I wish everyone a really great 2nd week!

i got thru the first week , 1 lb. lost which is okay, i'll try for more exercise this week, i have so trouble with arthritis, so can be a little difficult doing, but i know i can succeed because my heart is into getting healthier. i like the idea of being accountable and using the trackers daily.

I also just finished week 1. It's amazing the difference in how I feel after such a short time. And I swear my belly wasn't sticking out so far this morning!

Tracking my nutrition is really surprising. I thought I was this huge water drinker, and it turns out I don't drink as much as I thought I did. And wow do those calories add up quickly, even for the "healthy" foods. What an eye opener! Looking forward to my first weigh-in on Tuesday am to see if the scale reflects my work. But if not, that's OK, it will next week.

Have a great day!

so while my diet was not the highest in fruit and veg due to the fact that i absolutely have to suck my waist in to 34" by tuesday for my weighin/taping for my fitness test, i have been concentrating on doing my jumpstart video every day and doing at least 45 minutes of cardio. my profile limits me to slow walking, biking, and low impact aerobics so that my knees don't scream at me. but i have also maxed out my water every day and am seeing a lot of the puff go down because of it. i have restocked the freezer and fridge with approved protein and veggies and stocked the fruit bin for after tuesday.
i joined my biggest loser contest at the base gym which kicks off on monday and i am really looking to knock this one out of the park. last year i only got down 16 pounds over the challenge--the gal who won cleared off 34 pounds in the same time so i know it is totally doable. so i dusted off the walk-aerobics tapes/dvds and the weights and resistance bands and have been doing well with the one exception of friday when my day started at 6:30am and i didn't get home until 10:30pm. so that was a wash, but i got up this morning and did both of the day 6 and 7 videos and did 65 minutes of video. so i am excited to see what the scale and tape say in the morning.
good luck to all of my fellow jump starters!
