This was Day 1 for me. I have to laugh at myself. I am so uncoordinated! I kept with it and feel great! My goal is to have more energy and lose 2-3 pounds this month.

I started Sparking in the early spring last year, with good results. But by Fall I had fallen off the path. I still tried to do what I should and could, but old habits had taken over and I could not seem to stop myself from eating the snacks at work or buying them myself.

So I an going to use this challenge to get my Spark back on track and get down to my goal weight, while locking in the good habits.

My goal is to get back my healthy lifestyle. I really went downhill the middle of last year and have realized that I need to do this for me.
My ultimate goal is to get into an exercise routine that I will not give up on.

I am on day four/five (middle of the night lol) of starting with sparkpeople. Already i've lost five pounds... woohoot! My goals are to stop drinking soda (day four yesterday!) and stick with that this first week, drink eight glasses of water a day, and get off my butt. Exercising is a challenge as I have tendonitis in my knees, and in three tendons in each of my feet. OUCH. Still I won't let that stop me anymore! Four days this week I want to get on the treadmill and walk two miles which takes about thirty minutes with the cooldown. Otherwise I want to play thirty minutes on the kinnect dance central 3 with my daughter. Three days I want to use my kettle ball and start working on toning. Hopefully that will help my skin shrink better as I start really getting this weight off. WOOHOO this is a great incentive to try to get people like me who can't seem to get motivated to exercise.

I can do it, yes I can! I can do it like you can!!!

I have been immobile for about 8 weeks thanks to a broken ankle and now blood clots. Have started blood thinners but still can't walk without crutches and be totally mobile...however I can do seated exercises and use resistance bands and weights, etc and do SOMETHING!!!! That's my goal...just get back into a good habit of moving what I can when I can! :)

Hi everybody,
I broke my ankle in September and am now just learning to walk normally again. I've been able to keep my upper body strength workouts up, but not much in the way of cardio. So I'm looking forward to walking as much as I can and toning up with Nicole's workouts!
Good luck everybody!

Hi, I am planning on starting tracking Coach Nicole's workouts today and staying consistent with working out 5 days a week. Also, I am using the nutrition tracker's suggested meal plans as guidelines to help me eat a balanced and healthy diet while I lose weight. I find that if I restrict my calories too much and don't eat a balanced diet, I don't feel as well as defeat my purpose for feeling energetic and healthy. SP is a great place to get support with losing weight and exercising!

I did a risk assessment for cholesterol, triglycerides, bp etc. the good new is: my good cholesterol is high. The bad news is: so are all the other numbers! So I started a mostly vegetarian lifestyle-I am allowing myself chicken or fish 3 times a week- I started fish oil supplements and started walking 20-30 minutes EVERY day, recumbent bike at least 3 days each week (will work time and distance up) and arm weights 3 times a week. The difference THIS year?? I am being very specidfic with my lifestyle goals!

It's my turn and I'm taking it!

Stay calm and spark on!

I'm working on adding different things into my routine... I love to run and bought a treadmill to get me through the long snowy winter (instead of joining a gym) - but I've found that running is ALL I have been doing.

So, this is a challenge for me to do something different.

I did day 1 today, even though I planned to do it tomorrow... but I suppose that in several time zones, it is 2012 already emoticon

I was pleasantly surprised that the video got my heart going... VERY nice! Can't wait for day 2.

What if you fail?
You will.
Then, you move on.

This is the year I'm really going to get serious about taking care of me. There are so many things to do, I 'm not sure where to start. So I'll start with this challenge and with drinking 8 glasses of water every day. Real water - not coffee, milk, tea, etc.

It's 11:17 p.m. here in Kansas and the new year is rapidly approaching. So I've been looking at cardio workouts. I think I am going to start with the household chores workouts as I should be able to handle those, then I'll look at what else I can do. My goal is to last the entire 4 weeks.

Ok. This last week of December has been a 'warm up' to the challenge for me. I've been through each of the videos once at some point during the week, but will actually start the challenge on January 1, 2012. Cardio should be interesting during the first few days since I usually get my cardio workouts outdoors and we are under a winter storm warning for then next couple of days (after which temperatures will drop even lower). But it's ok... I have indoor cardio workouts as well!

Good luck to all of us during this Challenge as we begin 2012 and beyond the challenge as we reach for our goals for the year!

My goals are simple. Increase my use of hand weights, continue with my water aerobics and exercise bike and to log all my food and exercise and emotions.

I will schedule my exercise each Sunday for the week based upon my meeting and schedules.

My goal is to get back on track for 2012, adding strength training in smaller amounts to supplement my cardio! I love my cardio! In addition, I need to get serious about my nutritional needs for running and get down to a healthy racing weight. I am down nearly 50 pounds from my highest, but seem to be maintaining vs. losing right now. Hoping this challenge will encourage me to move forward!

Thank you for that!!! My goals are to do the cardio video for 10 minutes and then do yoga stretches for 10 minutes before bed while meditating every day starting tomorrow. I am also doing the Daily Challenges. As far as eating, I will continue to write everything down on Excel. I know what it is good for me and I do okay until the evening when I tend to eat mindlessly, and if I have sweets in the house, watch out.

My goals for the first week are:

*To complete a video every day (even if someone is watching LOL).
*To do 10-30 minutes of cardio 5x/week (either at the gym or outside walking depending on the weather).
*To cook healthy meals and eat healthy everyday 4-6 small meals a day and proper portion sizes!

Wishing everyone great success!

I know I can do this. My goal is to get back on track eating well, more veggies, do the exercise videos and up the walking. I want to lose 10 pounds by Easter, and 20 by June. I've been vacilating between 152-158 for the past several months. It's time to take charge and change things up a bit.
I will begin on the 1st of January, so I can keep track.

I just went on a 30 min walk with my hubby and I feel great! For lunch we ate a nice healthy salad and drunk our water. I am going to stay with this challenge.

Day 4!! I love the core workout in the chair! Awesome, although I feel it more in my hips and tops of my thighs rather than my abs. I'll work on that! Also just did 30 minutes on my "new" treadmill (found a super deal on Craigslist!!!) on a preset program. Really fun. I am sure the newness will eventually wear off, but I love it right now!
Happy New Year!!

It only takes a spark, to get a fire going!
I'll shout it from the mountain tops!
I want the world to know!
I want to pass it on!

Looking forward to starting this tomorrow. Will do the small cardio video.

I am back to work on Tuesday so that will help me get into a routine with this as I have to get up and sort out the day before the girls go to school. Also, got to somehow work a pet rabbit into our morning routine!!! So the Challenge will give a boast to getting up early to get the exercise done.

Starting tomorrow my goal is walk for 10 minutes. I haven't exercised in such a long time that I thought that 10 minutes would work for me! emoticon

I am finding the 10 minute videos quite helpful. Sometimes my knees make it difficult to do certain exercises or certain days, the variety means that I can switch a meet my goals. These small steps also mean that I can meet the goals every day and at times challenge myself to do more. Today we are going to take the bus to check out the New Year's activities downtown, this involves stairs, walking and some dancing. It's a good way to end the year and kickstart the new one I think.

I maintain a healthy lifestyle. I make one change at a time and that change becomes a habit.

Day 5 done. The pilates were difficult while doing them on one side, but have been walking the dogs a lot this week. Trying to get back into routine. This challenge does not seem as difficult as others I have done. Maybe that just means I am in better shape now then I was when I did those challenges at the beginning of my journey :)

Day 4 done! Formal New Year's Eve function tonight at which there will be much dancing. Using that as my cardio for tonight.

Loving the great energy here and how folks are jumping right in!

Change is hard. Be persistent.
