SparkPortland Team Walk/Run/Bike - April 21

Ditto meeting you, Candy! It was great to have a real-life meetup so soon after joining SP...fun!

MsJessPDX, it was wonderful to meet you this morning!
We chatted and walked 5 miles on the trail this morning, in the drizzle. That didn't stop us from having a good time.

BlueRose2000 we'll look forward to seeing you next time!

Next month is the Rock'n'Roll Half Marathon in Portland on Sunday, May 19. Let's see if we can come up with a different route to walk either the weekend before or weekend after. I'll start a thread at the beginning of May and we'll get something set up.

Bluerose2000, yep, we're still meeting at the Home Depot. I'll be in a red Kia Soul (think Hamster car) parked at the end of the fenced off shrub/tree area, near the sheds/out buildings in the parking lot. That sounds crazy now but it will make sense when you get in the parking lot LOL

DrSunshine1, enjoy the brunch! We'll organize another walk in our glorious weather soon and will look forwarding to meeting you both.

Hey everyone! It's well past time we organize another team walk, don't you think? Let's jazz it up a little bit - if you're a runner or a biker, feel free to join us! This location has it all for every form of fitness - even roller blading!


Let's get together and enjoy some scenery.

Who: You and your spouse or partner or friend or family member (pets are allowed, with advice to keep them on-leash as it's a busy trail)

What: 1 - 8 mile walk - you pick the distance!

When: Sunday, April 21 at 9 a.m.

Where: Marine Drive Trail

Meeting place: The Home Depot, 11633 NE Glenn Widing Dr, Portland, OR 97220

We'll park at The Home Depot then take a short walk along a closed alleyway to cross Marine Drive and reach the trail. From that point down to a closed boat ramp is 4 miles which would mean an 8 mile out-and-back. Everyone is welcome to walk or run or bike the distance that's comfortable for them.

If this time, day, or location doesn't work for you, please feel free to post another thread for an alternative outing!

There is a Shari's restaurant just up the block from the Home Depot. If you'd like, we could pop in there for lunch or a coffee after tackling the trail. Just a thought!
