I'm a waterholic. I drink it all day every day and I drink nothing else, ever. I've had 96 oz today and I'm just warming up.

Most days I drink at least 64 oz of water I believe. I have 32 oz glass water bottles that I bought and I keep one in my bedroom, bathroom, and car just about at all times so I'm always looking at water and because I see it I drink it more, that works for me

I have never tracked how much I drink but I went to the water calculator to find out how much I should be drinking per day. I was shocked at the results:

Daily Hydration Calculator Results

A person who is 225 pounds
and is exercising for 15 minutes ,
is not pregnant,
is not breastfeeding,
does not live at a high altitude,
does not live in a dry climate,
drinks 3 alcoholic drink(s),
when the weather is not very hot or very cold,
and is not sick with fever or diarrhea should have:

138 ounces of water today, or 4.1 liters.

If you eat a healthy diet, about 20 percent of your water may come from the foods you eat. If you eat a healthy diet you can drink 110.4 ounces of water today, or 3.3 liters.

I usually drink 40 ounces so I'll try for the 48 too. Thanks for doing the math for me Shari :-)

I'm so glad we're going to have weekly challenges. I was on SP before and am glad to be back. Let's get our team more active.

I usually drink 32oz. a day I will try to drink another bottle of water so between 38.4-50.7

I usually drink between 8 and 10 cups of water a day - 64 to 80 ounces so I'll try to up my daily water intake to between 72 and 88 ounces.

I drink on average 32 oz. (usually less) emoticon
so my goal is 38.4oz emoticon of the clear nectar. Bottoms up!

I drink about 32 oz of water daily-so my goal is to increase it to 38.4 (20%=6.4 oz increase).
If I have a good day, I'll try for 40 oz.

Each week there will be a weekly challenge, focusing on either Nutrition, Wellness, Exercise or Motivation.

The first challenge focus is Nutrition.

If you are like me, you have no problems getting your water in the warm months but as the weather cools, you find yourself drinking less and less water.

Our first Nutrition Challenge is WATER!


Over half of the human body is made up of water; for this reason, drinking water for health is absolutely crucial in maintaining a healthy lifestyle

Water helps the digestive system, speeds up metabolism, is a natural appetite suppressant, regulates body temperature, and is essential for nutrients to travel to organs and tissues.

So how much water do you need per day?

The most popular is 64 ounces a day. However, depending on your current weight and activity level you may need more water.

It is important not to increase your water intake all at once. Water intake should be gradually increased.

Depending on what your current average daily water intake is, this week's challenge is to increase it by 20%.

For example, I currently drink on average 40 ounces of water a day. So my goal for this week is to increase by 20% which would be an additonal 8 ounces a day for 48 ounces.

Post your current average daily water intake and what a 20% increase would be and meet this goal 4 of 7 days this week.
