haha...yes, well, I myself, should have known better considering that uncle!

He was always making gag gifts.

One was a miniature wooden stool that he'd present after asking us,
"Want to see my stool sample?"

Polish Magnet:

One day while at my grandma's house, my Polish uncle said, "Psst, Hey kids..." waving us over. "Do you wanna see a Polish Magnet?"

We all groaned, then eagerly participated in whatever adventure he had up his sleeve.

He said, "Come here, follow me!" So he turned and began walking around the house to the backyard, trailing several nieces and nephews behind him. He turned this way and that way and on and on until....we finally 'got' it.

Normal:
One day that same Polish uncle said, "Hi Normal! in greeting his great-niece. (around age 8-10)
She said, My name's not Normal, it's '______".

The next time and the next time and the next time...same thing until FINALLY the niece couldn't take it anymore,

"I'M NOT NORRRMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This same uncle spent hours, days and weeks making two huge sets of Lincoln Logs for his great nieces and nephews for Christmas one year.

And we all lived happily ever after...

Darlene, i only met one of my grandmothers and she was in her 80's then only found out that i had a grandma when my dad made peace with his sister who was watching over her..my moms mom died when i was about 6 months old (got a picture of her and my mom and her half sister) but nothing on her dad, she spent like 6 years in a orphanage cause her parent could not take care of her...met her two half sisters when they were older and met one of their kids once and never messed with them again,,,,that is why i call our tree a bush with a lot of dry branches.!!!!LOL

Randy, your ancestry sounds like mine. I have information on both my grandmothers (one a book and one a CD that has everything listed and verified), but I can't find anything on my grandfathers other than their parents' names. From here on there is no more tree unless my cousins because I am an only child that no one would have anything to do with, so no kids.

There are five of us, also, all girls. We are all local, with one sis living about 30 min away. Only 2 of us are similar (thus we are the ones with several children, lol). One sis passed away already at age 48. (my age now....oh wait. I'm 49. and.... a half. oops.)

And we all lived happily ever after...

My family tree of just my mom and dad and us kids and grandkids looks hilarious.
My oldest sister and I have many children, while another has two kids and the other two sisters only have one.
So my tree is saggy on two branches and perky on the other three. lol

And we all lived happily ever after...

My moms mother side is well done but her fathers side is stalled cause we cant find anything on him, except he was a day farmer and was ill at the time...she never talked about her childhood with any of us, wasnt till she was gone that we learned of her moms side of the family and that was from a cousin ,a daughter of my moms half sister my dad side is even worse off than that, I call my family tree a family bush instead......LOL

Very good advice. I found blindly adding to my Family Tree off of other's findings cost me a lot of time as I went back looking for actual resources. I have a lot of "fixing" to do.
