I check my weight each morning to stay motivated but I am recording whenever I lose weigh on sparkpeople. I may go to just recording daily just so I can see the trend right now the trend is really really slow but generally downward.

I weigh in every morning -- as I get more accustomed to the plan I will cut back to once a week. I get obsessed with the scale too easily.

I weigh twice a week, sometimes three times (especially if I have strayed from the discipline a bit, because I need to know the consequences, otherwise too easy to kid yourself). I don't weigh every day, because if I have gained a pound back, it tends to make me bummed out all day. But the weighing (and measuring, which I do twice a month) is the feedback that lets me know whether what I am doing is working or not. Have to have feedback.

Another one who weighs first thing every morning. It's just part of the routine, and I always hope for going down a pound (and do a little celebratory dance when it is) I expect the same or within a couple of pounds. It's been at 128.0 for four days in a row. I keep wondering when it will dip into 127! Maybe a bit more intense notice since my goal of 125 by my birthday is next Thursday. I won't make 125 (unlikely), but it's going in the right direction.

I'm used to weighing in one or twice per week. But looking at some of the responses on this forum, I may change that to less frequently. Thanks for the insight;-).

Maybe once or twice a month. Any more than that and it will be frustrating and depressing. The scale is not my friend and it doesn't define me and my weight loss.

I agree with glowworm below. For me the scale can be distracting and discouraging if things aren't going the way I think. I recently returned to tracking, watching what I eat, and trying to exercise. I plan to focus on my short term goals, and hope the scale follows. I don't plan to weight very often this time. I expect my body will tell me if I am on track or now. I want this time to be a new lifestyle and not a diet. Wish me well...I have failed at losing weight more times than I can count. I am trying to make this time different. emoticon emoticon

I am finally committed to changing my lifestyle permanently and I am doing it by eating 1600 calories each day for the rest of my life. Since I record my eating and calories every day in a notebook it keeps me on track so I don't feel the need to weigh myself often. I like to see results and daily, even weekly, weigh-ins can be discouraging. So long story short, I am going to weigh myself monthly. I will let you know how it goes.

I weigh daily, but take each day's weight with a grain of salt since water, exercise and the food I eat affects the daily weight so much. So if I see one day up I don't panic, but if I see more, I will adjust what I am doing.

I avoid scales for as long as possible. When I'm motivated to lose weight I will weigh in once a week, on Saturday mornings only. Too many weigh ins in the week is far too discouraging and I don't think very wise or healthy to do. Having lost 120 lbs with gastric bypass surgery 15 yrs ago the SCALE is very pointless to me. Its about how I feel about me not what the scale says. Need to lose 30 lbs now....so I'll weigh in weekly.

I weigh every Sunday, the beginning of my week. This way my goal is small and can possibly be achieved, since it's in small increments. I tried weighing in every day to see the visual on the scale, but I just got to depressed with all the ups and downs and felt like I'd be dieting for an eternity. emoticon
