You really can do this! I did.

Life is happening now, not 10 pounds from now.

230 lbs lost without surgery, crazy diets, diet products, or extreme exercise- so have hope!

Well I have been overweight most of my life. 9 Years ago I started spark and lost 120lbs in 2 years. I felt so amazing and free. I went from being disabled to working again. I then hurt my back while caring for residents at a nursing home and discovered I had spendyliosis (Probably not spelled right). I became disabled again and ballooned up to 422 where I am now. Losing a lot of the mobility and depression taking over made it a quick recipe with disaster along with a lot of stress at home from being a care giver to my mother. So now I'm trying to start again.

Let's Spark it,
Mito

Once I hit 32 I started gaining weight from medication that I am on for neuropathy. My highest weight was just recently 215 pounds. I am at 192 now 2 1/2 weeks later. It is painful getting myself moving again. I am 48 now so I have been losing weight and then gaining it back again for 16 years. I was told about sparkpeople from a friend and I kept putting off coming here until now.

If it doesn't challenge you,it will not change you!

Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me!

A goal should scare you a little, and excite you a lot!

It always seems impossible until it is done!

I have not been at a healthy weight since I was 7 years old. We moved every 6 months, so I was always the new girl at school. I was ridiculed relentlessly, mostly by other girls. I was raised alone by my schizophrenic and alcoholic mother who constantly put me down about my weight and never recognized my talents and scholastic achievements.

I've waivered between 200 and 360 pounds over the past 20 years. I've had to contend with extremely traumatic events...my baby boy died, my husband left me pregnant with out third son, my mother committed suicide, my beloved grandmother suffered an early death by cancer, and I lost my career as a teacher.

I currently weigh 348 pounds. My major goal in life is to know what it feels like to have a nice body (one without sags and flaps).

The journey I'm on now is going to take 2-3 years...I will have to face the financial and physical problems of undergoing a full body lift (arms, breasts, hips, thighs, butt). So, when I fall off the horse, I will get back on without shame or regret.

I hope to find SP friends and that we can help each other.

Thoughts become things. Losing 150 pounds started with this simple little phrase: "No More."
