Doing cardio almost every day so far this month.
Still working on restricting the junk food.
Eating lots of freggies most days.
Doing good with portion control.
Did my strength exercises 3 days last week.

This week I'm going to really focus on limiting the junk food.

November was a rough month for me, we lost our much loved 16 year old kitty, plus I suffered an injury that sidelined me for a couple of weeks. Feeling better now so I'm getting back to working on my goals.


December goals -

Get junk food eating back in control
Choose healthy snacks
Eat lots of freggies
Watch portions
30" or more cardio most days

emoticon Well, it happened again! I now have reached my 2nd goal that I had set for the Blitz and Glitz challenge plus an extra pound.I have been going by 3 pound increments so this time I am going to set a goal to lose 5# by January 1, 2013.

I had been stagnant in any weight loss for a while and now it is picking back up again.There are about six weeks until January 1, 2013 so that is about 1 pound a week.Here I go again.

My wish for everyone is that you would have as many successes as you can stand in just one day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Last week was a rough one physically (I fell last weekend) and emotionally (we lost our 16 year old kitty), resulting in too much comfort eating.

Getting back on track starting today. I'm recommitting to this month's plan -

Continue limiting junk food.
Eat lots of freggies.
Be more consistent with strength exercises.
Stay in calorie range most days.

My goal for January 1st is to weigh 299 (or any other number UNDER 300).

My goals are:
1. Stay within my calorie range.
2. Drink at least 64 ounces of water daily.
3. No soda.
4. Try to move every day for at least ten minutes.

emoticon I never thought that it would happen, but it did.I have reached my Holiday Blitz and Glitz challenge early! I was 3 pounds away and now I reached my goal plus 1 extra pound down. This means now that I am adjusting my goal pounds to lose 3 more pounds by January 1, 2014.

As of yesterday I have lost 182# and my new goal is to lose 185#.

Sooooooo, I'm off and running again to reach the prize! emoticon

I just thought that I would share my excitement with my friends. emoticon

Greetings from the Pacific Northwest! The weather in Western Washington has been unseasonably mild and conducive to outdoor activities. There are no viable excuses to avoid taking a daily walk outside. In addition to the walking, I do strength training exercise at the exercise stations positioned alongside the walking trail.

As far as my fitness goals are concerned, my water intake is okay (9-10 glasses). However, fulfilling the following 4 goals will be challenging for me:
1) Tracking my food intake daily
2) Eating 3 to 5 vegetables daily
3) Cardio Exercise at least 5 days each week
4) Strength Training 3 days per week

Thanks for your support. Each of you is an inspiration for me.

October didn't work out. emoticon But, I have changed my nutrition tracker to only add my calories for fitness when my Spark Activity tracker registers fitness minutes. I like seeing it light up! emoticon

BigRedAngel... I'm with you what I'm doing inst working.

I am going to try for 2 # this week and go from there
I am going to eat vegetables for lunch and hope the rest of the day goes better than it has been.
I am going to rate my hunger and my inner brat every time I want a snack...
I am going to cook 3 evening meals each week
I am going to take a healthy dish for Thanksgiving.
I am not even going to try to swear off my sisters cheesecake this year; though I will limit myself to 1 small piece.

Still limiting junk food, have allowed myself a sweet here and there.
Eating lots of veggies - made my Bean Medley recipe the other day, it's all veggies and makes a big batch for lots of leftovers. A favorite of my husband's.
Cardio - have been doing at least 30" total every day
Strength - need to be more consistent, I keep putting it off.
Wearing my Spark Tracker daily and have exceeded my step goal each day so I'm going to up the goal
Forgot my Monday weigh in, I'm so used to end of week weighs, so I'll do my usual Friday weigh this week.

I completed my 7 day no junk challenge, and am no working on limiting the junk food. So far so good.

My plan for the rest of October -

Limit junk food
Eat lots of freggies
Cardio - at least 30" 5-6 days/week
Strength - 3 times/week
Wear my Spark Tracker daily
Switch weekly weights to Monday, to keep me accountable over the weekend

Yeah, I need to think about something more realistic instead of dreaming so big... in the meantime, I feel good today... I lost 2 lbs this week which is the most I have lost in a week, so gonna keep moving forward while I think about it. Will repost a new one after I have had some time to think about it. ok, I'm beginning to think 30 lbs by January is impossible. For some reason things just aren't going like they should, and I am not sure why. I have been tracking everything I put in my mouth and owning the times I have been over, which have only been a couple. Exercising as much as I can, added some of the seated videos and now I am just plain discouraged. The last weight was on the Dr's scale... so maybe just the difference in scales.... I don't know. Must have been that stress eating episode did me in, boy did I ever learn from that!!!! Sighhhhhhhhhhh emoticon

I know we are 11 days in but my challenge is this: I am back to spark and I am starting. I have been hiding for a long time again.. and I just must get on with it.

SO for me, cardio 30 minutes, following my low end of calorie intake, drink my water... and I just quit that smoking! Focus on healthy foods and not processed garbage.

I am tired of lying to myself. I am ready to set boundaries and own my life. I want to treat myself like the treasure I am.

I am really working at things, but no results are coming... frustrating, but I NEVER give up, so the pounds just have numbered days.

OK Guys,
I'm pretty new at this and I'm not sure about specific goals for October, but my dream is to crack the 200 pound barrier by New Years. I think I can do it because that's about 16 pounds in about 11 weeks. So far, I have lost 17 pounds since Aug. 28th (4 of them before Spark People). I've done 8 glasses of water each day, stayed in my calorie range and done at least 20 min of fitness every day. I try to stay at the low end of my calorie range so that if I make small slip ups they don't drag me down. I guess my goals for November and December are to get the cardio up to 40 min. four times a week and 25 min on the other 3 days when I do 10 min of strength training. DLYNN - yep, stress eating is my downfall too. The first thing I'll reach for is usually sweets. Then I feel don't feel good physically. I've been working hard to do something else instead, usually exercise, even just getting up and walking around. That does work, but I have to remind myself to do it.

Felina, I totally understand. I messed up yesterday and stress ate chocolate, felt horrible afterwards. But started today right, exercised, and resolved to find a different outlet for my stress when I can't get away from what I am doing. I refuse to let my weight beat me.

I started another no junk challenge yesterday. I've been doing really good limiting the junk food but had a slip over the weekend. I didn't like the way I felt physically afterward so I decided I need a refresher challenge so my goal is 7 days no junk.

Today's menu is made out. Snacks will be yogurt, blueberries and peaches.
Exercise will be walking and upper body strength.

My September goals were not met emoticon But That's ok, I am still losing. I just need to buckle down more on the other goals I set for myself. Working out just never "works out" for me but I NEED to, no more excuses.

Has a month gone by already????? My goal is still to be under 300.... trying hard to get there, but it is slow.
This month goals:
Going to continue to meet protein goals without going over fat goal
Keep calories 1200-1300
Exercise bike every other day for 20 min and either walk or do videos on days I don't bike at least preferably every day.

I cannot believe it is October already!!!

By Jan2014, I want to be at goal weight of 150 # (that is 14# down)

For October
I will not eat while driving
I will eat all the veggies that I want, and limit the fruits to 3 servings/day
I will track my food again
I will do 50 pushups and 50 bicycle crunches a day



Yesterday is history

For September I did well on my goals, staying in calorie range most days and exercising at least 30" at least 5 days per week.
My October plan is to continue the same goals and add in eating lots of freggies and to try a new cardio workout at least once per week. I'm also continuing to limit the junk food.
Since starting my no junk challenge 7/29 I've lost 8 pounds. That leave me about 4 pounds to goal.

Week 1 for me was pretty decent. I drank my water, ate my freggies and got in several mini walking sessions along with some weight training 2 days. I'm down 1 pound so that is on target. Now to press on.

I'm still working on this "Blitz and Glitz" Although it seems at times I take more steps backwards than I do forwards.All of these new medical issues and new medicines that I've been on since May really causes havoc on a self-improvement plan of weight loss.I'm not giving up or giving in.I will make my 20 pound weight loss by January 1st.I can do this.I've already lost 170 pounds and I can lose 20 more I just know I can! Thanks for all the encouragement and uplifting words that I have received from all the members of Spark People.I just love this website!

The past week -
Stayed in calorie range most days. Had company over the weekend and went over.
Exercised at least 30" every day except Sunday, my rest day.
Eating lots of freggies.
Planning my daily menus and sticking to them.
Limiting junk food, did have cheesecake when company was here, but no other junk this week.

By January 1, 2014 I want to weigh 268 or less. That is a 15 pound loss.

My goals for September:
Drink my Water - Still need more water consistently
Eat more fruits and veggies -This needs work
Exercise at least 15 minutes each and every day. Did this!
Track my food each and every day. Did this!

So my October goals: I need specific goals!
Drink 8-9 cups of water each day-fill my water bottle 4 times!
Eat 5-7 fruits and veggies each and every day
Exercise 25 minutes per day or more
Track my food each and every day including weekends-I tracked each day, but didn't put my weekends in until Monday-even though I have the mobile app.

Dlynn.....take care of yourself!! That sounds mighty painful. Will pray for a quick healing!! emoticon

I'm not able to check in much but will be with ya'all in spirit for the next few months!! I am going to challenge myself to a measly 15 pounds by Jan1. That will make me in the neighborhood of 170-175. That will make me happy. I'm having surgery on my foot next month and will be on crutches for 3 months so that should help with upper body strength training for sure!! emoticon I'll have to really challenge my brain to remember all the chair routines I can since I can't watch the videos. It'll be fun, though and hopefully the foot will heal quickly!

My challenge will be to eat at least 5 fruits and veggies everyday, keep my calorie range 1400-1700, drink all my 12 glasses of water a day, get in at least 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week, and enjoy a froyo sundae on my monthly trip to town. Starting weight was 189.2 this morning.
