Today I'm 14DPO with AF due tomorrow. Have continued having numerous symptoms, but have POAS the past three mornings and all were BFNs. I think I may have experienced some implantation spotting on Sunday (12DPO) so I'm hoping I'm just testing too early. I did call my doctor and explain my situation and continued negative tests so if AF doesn't show up this week, I plan to have blood work done on Saturday. I've read that some women don't get a BFP until 6-8 weeks pregnant. So I'm still hoping this month is my month!

Hi all,

I have been out for a week now... Kind of forgot to post it here. Just started our 3rd IUI process, with Clomid. I am having hot flashes and headaches for the past three days. I hate these meds!

Anyway, on a good note: we are planning our summer holiday. We'll probably go to Portugal. Time to get back to duolingo.com and practice my Portuguese :)
And I am finishing my yoga teacher training this week. I have learned sooo much!!

Fingers crossed for us all!!

It's understandable! Hopefully you won't have to learn too much and you'll be lucky the first time. If not, there are some good phone apps you can use, you can track your temps as an extra tool, or even observe your cervical mucus for signs of fertility. Good luck with the TWW (always the hardest part when you're hoping to become pregnant!)

Thanks Abby! I bought Wondfo strips after you last suggestion and that's how I got the positives. I just noticed slight spotting, so now I'm wondering if I already O or if the spotting is pre-O. All of this is so new to me, and I feel crazy for getting so scientific with it during my very first month TTC. But I really appreciate all the support!

A positive ovulation test means you should O in the next day or two. So BDing several times before and after is best.

The best answer to when to take a pregnancy test is the date of your expected period or after. However, some people get a positive as early at 9 or 10 DPO. If you are going to test super early I highly suggest buying Wondfo test strips because they are so cheap compared to the big brand names.

Had a positive OPK on Monday, BD yesterday, but wondering if ovulation might have happened on Monday and I missed the window. So now I start the TWW. How many DPO is normal to take a pregnancy test?

Definitely a lot going on. It will probably take a few cycles (hopefully you won't need it!) to get the hang of things. Your not truly out until AF shows, but you're right that your cycles may not immediately normalize after having an IUD. Good luck!

According to my tracking app(s) and OPK, I should have ovulated on CD17. But yes, it is my first time tracking AND my first cycle without my Mirena IUD so who knows. The doctor said I should be able to conceive right away but I know some people have not had a fast result after IUD removal. Or a quick restoration of regular cycles.

Allie, do you know for sure when you ovulated? Is this your first cycle tracking? My cycles can be from 30 to 36 days but by tracking when I ovulate I can better pinpoint AF (it's always 15 days later for me). Just curious because knowing that has helped me not feel like I'm "late". You're not out until AF shows, but I know it's hard waiting!

I'm 7-8DPO here and trying not to focus on the pregnancy end of things too much. It's too hard getting my hopes up after so many months of trying (almost two years with my daughter and now another 10 this second time around).

Instead I'm finally focusing on getting healthy after shooting up 10-15 lbs when I weaned my daughter from breastfeeding. Been doing lots of running, walking and yoga, and trying to eat less but unfortunately the scale isn't moving... yet. I know it will soon, though!

Jan Marie - I would just like to add that unlike pregnancy tests, first thing in the morning isn't the best time to test. I usually test once or twice a day when I know I'm getting close to ovulation. My strips don't get progressively darker, just suddenly darker when I get my positive.

Definitely invest in the "cheap" Wondfo strips if you can. They work great and are a whole lot less expensive than other tests.

Congratulations on your positive test! I am also 9DPO and had a negative result but I still have some hope, since my period is still 5 days away. It's my first month trying so I don't expect I will conceive this month anyway, but it would be great!

Welcome Jan-Marie! It's my first month trying too. If you use the OPK strips every day, you will see the second line start to get darker and darker the closer you get to ovulation. When it's about as dark as the control line, you should ovulate within 24-48 hours. Good luck! Feel free to PM me if you want to chat about first month stress!

Hey, just wanted to pop in and say... I got a few faint positives today at 9DPO! Excited but already worried since last pregnancy ended in missed miscarriage. I'm glad I got back to a healthy weight, even if it's on the high end for 5'1" at 130 lbs, I'll take it. My estimated due date is within a few days of my last one... kinda weird. I've been taking 200mg progesterone orally since ovulation (CD14) because I was having such short LP's, hopefully it will help! Also, good luck to all of you!

Yeah, I'm glad for it, obviously, but there are times, like last week, where I had a few meltdowns, thinking this may never end.

I will do a short overview of diet. It was mainly a detox for about 3 weeks and then the eating plan changed slightly for the rest of the time. I will preface this by saying that I had already been through a fertility challenge with another naturopath where I learned about all the bad things in foods such as pesticides, GMOs, plastic things in our kitchen, including water bottles, etc. I had thrown out all of the foods with anything with hydrogenated at the front of it, all soy, anything with added sugar, as well as artificial sugar. Threw out all cleaners and went natural, all pesticides, re-did all my makeup and personal care items to avoid sulfates and parabens. Not sure if it has helped, but I am glad I don't have these things in my home, for the things I can help.

The first five days we ate whole foods, which really means nothing is packaged for easy cooking! She did give us a list of the types of foods to avoid, foods to eat sometimes and food we could always have. Mostly stick with veggies and fruits that are organic and whole grains. We did no meat, dairy, sugar, caffeine, gluten, or soy these three weeks. For 3 days we did raw foods, which is what it is. No cooking of any veggies and lots of sprouts. Then 5 days of juicing, which she had a specific recipe, back to raw for 3 days, then back to whole. I will also add that we were taking detox supplements to help us through this entire thing. After that, we added meat back in and we could have stevia if we wanted. I had no side effects from caffeine withdrawal and I believe that had to do with drinking half my weight in ounces of water. It was definitely challenging, but my husband has now lost almost 40 pounds and I have dropped a little more than 20. I've gained a little bit since I stopped the thyroid med I was on.

Now we just stick to the same thought process but eat protein for breakfast, protein and veggies for lunch, and veggies and whole grain carbs for dinner. Carbs can also include starchy things like kidney beans or lentils, or even squash.

It's definitely intense! This is just part of the whole plan we've been under. I mean, we bought a new water filtration system and we went to CA so I could have some therapy done, I've taken lots of herbs and supplements, and done things I never thought I would! Plus eaten things I never thought I would! And I think she does the same detox for all her patients, but she obviously does a detailed intake of both people and everything is personalized.

I have a quick update. Slightly changing up my eating plan to see if I can support my progesterone hormone this cycle. Adding another herb to the bean soups I will be eating and then this is my last cycle on the tinctures, at least with the way they are currently mixed. Not sure if she will change it for the next one or if I will stop. Will drink green tea twice a day. Trying to find a place that will do an antral follicle scan for me at a reasonable price. I have insurance but doubt they will cover it as it is fertility related. Sometimes you can luck out with a cheaper price if you just pay it without insurance. Depends on the place. Now I'm just waiting for the order so the place that I found can tell me if they can actually do it. Fingers crossed! If they do, I'll be doing that next week.

Then she said we are very close to trying on our own. I am hoping maybe next cycle, but we shall see!
