Congrats on the BFP's girls! That is wonderful news!
I'm still waiting, but had two BFN's so I'm not very hopeful.. Switching over to the Feb-board now.

Ahh okay, gotcha. I don't totally trust that OB/GYNs want to necessarily get to the root of the issue in most cases. Mine wanted to wait until a 3rd MC before they'd look more into things for me. That's when I hauled ass on up to the fertility center here and thank god for that!

Seems my levels are increasing nicely this time as well, so I'm still niiiice n pregnant. First US is now set for next Monday at 12:30. :) I'll be happy when we get to the heartbeat and then I can relax some. That is usually at 6 wks, so by 2/15, I should be able to relax a bit.

Still pullin for ya, Abby! :)

I've never been to a specialist, just switched OBGYNs. I have an appointment with my doctor for mid-February so I will see what she has to say then. We had an appointment set up with a specialist last time around and then ended up finding out we were pregnant before we could keep it!

On another note, I'm 12 DPO today and still getting a negative so I'm pretty sure I'm out this cycle! emoticon

Darn that stinks. Endometriosis and cysts are a huge infertility issue. I know multiple ladies with this issue. I know one right now that had surgeries and is waiting on IUI for this next cycle. I'm super stoked for her. She goes to the same specialist that I see. It's funny how many people I know or am friends with that go to his fertility center or have gone in the past.

Did the specialist say you'd need repeat treatment for the endometriosis? I hope you can get your answers soon.

Good luck GIGERNREZNOR!! I know that wait will be tough but hopefully you'll have great news Monday!

To answer your earlier question here is a quick run-down of my first TTC journey:
- June 2012, started trying

- December 2012 - talked to a doctor because we weren't getting pregnant, got placed on Clomid but with no monitoring (didn't know that this was a problem!)

- April 2013 - insisted on further testing and got an US and HSG. Everything looked good (or so we thought!)

- September 2013 - frustrated and unhappy, decided to switch doctors. New doc looked at US from April and pointed out multiple cysts that old doc didn't find worth mentioning.

- September 2013 - had laproscopic surgery to remove cysts, treat endometriosis and clear out uterine polyp

- December 2013 - another couple rounds of Clomid (monitored this time)

- February 2014 - decide to take a break from Clomid and give it three cycles before meeting with specialist.

- March 2014 - discover we our pregnant! I wasn't on any medication at the time.

Well, they seemed pleased with the levels for the 1st draw (though the HCG is way lower than with my 1st draw with Liam). But like they say..you body varies greatly with hormones produced at any given time or with subsequent pregnancies. They're not concerned, so I'm trying not to be. Won't know more until Monday with my 2nd draw to see if it's truly viable. That's when they'd start me on an HCG booster.

Fingers crossed!

With the anterior placenta, it was stuck to the front, so he was behind it. He'd have to kick hard enough to be feel him through it, which is apparently not likely when he's the size of an apple or something. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'd imagine that your uterus being set back would be a similar problem, activity not close enough to the front to feel.

Darn bloat!

I did the same with the digital test yesterday haha It helps, ey? :)

And I believe for first time mom's it's pretty common not to feel the baby move until then. I didn't feel him till around then. My uterus is set far back too, I believe, so no clue if that has anything to do with it. It's suppoooosedly why they had trouble picking up my contractions while they were (over)dosing me with pitocin.

I also didn't start to really show until maybe the end of my 2nd trimester. I'm also 6'2", so the long torso comes into play there. =P

I'm already starting to bloat too. I did a digital test last night and got a nice 'Pregnant' so now I feel a little more like it's real.

I also love being pregnant, although it took me forever to show and then I had an anterior placenta, so I didn't feel him move until 20 or 21 weeks.

Abby,

I don't recall--so how did you eventually get pregnant? I cannot seem to remember your story. Was it just good luck or did you have any procedures or do any meds or anything?

I went for my levels this morning, so I should hear back in a couple hrs to see where my progesterone and HCG are at.

I feel good, but already bloated as all hell. It's funny because I got into killer shape last year (lost close to 50lbs and was in better shape than I've maybe ever been in in my adult life) but now I've already got the bloated tummy haha It's all good though. There are muuuch worse things to complain about. :) The first trimester will just take some getting used to because I'm likely just going to feel "fat". I love 2nd and 3rd tri when you start to pop and feel things and fully embrace the glorious fertile, strong mama that you are! :)

I'll keep an eye on you "ladies in waiting"...thinkin of ya! :)

Thanks! Trying to remain optimistic because I know it is still early. However, I've spent a combined total of 28 months TTC now and only one time ever seen a positive. My body just doesn't seem to want to get pregnant easily.

Don't get down about it, Abby! I rarely test positive early and def not as early as you are now. I have low hormone levels so it takes longer to build up in my system. You should still have loads of hope!

Not really sure. The only time I've ever had a positive test was on the day AF was due. I didn't test early at all that cycle.

10dpo and negative test this morning. Definitely feeling less hopeful. Finally set up appointment for mid Feb to talk with my doctor.

5 more days until AF is due so I guess I'm not out quite yet.

Aww I'm sorry lady. You can hold out! Do you usually have strong levels? How early have you tested positive before?

Well, I trust me CBE digital this morn. Definitely BFP! I will anxiously await my first and second US to make sure the egg implanted correctly and is thriving. Can't wait to see/hear that first HB as well. 😊

Heh funny because I've been having trouble getting my eating back on track the last week or so. I've been pretty good this wk but yeah, I feel crazy bloated. Could also be the hormones. All this extra progesterone in my system...

I was thinking AF wasn't due to Monday, but I think that was off (have only had 1 AF anyway, so I don't actually know how long my cycle is right now). I know about when I ovulated for sure, so I think today is 11 DPO, with my first + yesterday on 10 DPO.

AF is due Friday for me, so I'm around 12 DPO.

Thank you! You just may!

Kari must have potent levels of HCG since I think she's roughly--what--5 days before AF? My HCG levels are always very low so I generally won't test positive till a couple days before. I do HCG injections to supplement, so I'll be starting those likely on Friday or Saturday.

Fingers crossed, lady! :) Keep us all posted!

Wow, yeah?? Yaaay same here Kari! Faint BFP today. I go get my levels checked Friday morning.

Haha and I was the EXACT same way this morn after figuring I definitely wasn't pregnant when I tested yesterday. Told a couple friends of mine and they of course said the same thing--a line is a line, no matter how faint.

Congrats to us!! :)))))))))))

My brain knows that a line is a line, and I tell people the same thing, but I am still disbelieving. Maybe I need to go get a digital test so I can be straight up told 'pregnant' ;)

Yeah, I guess we are at like 26 months BF. Last night when I offered him water instead of milky, he took it and guzzled it and went right back to sleep. So, the night weaning seems to be going well every other day ;)

We are at 14+ months breastfeeding and I'm not sure there is an end in sight! I never saw myself going past a year but I also never had a firm date in mind. Now I understand why people end up going for so long. I know I will miss it when we're done and she certainly doesn't seem ready to quit!

Yes, my little man loves his milky. Especially at night and especially right now, while he's teething and daddy is away. Last night didn't go so well with the night weaning. 2 steps forward, 1 step back. Not a SAH, I'm an engineer. Who doesn't get a lot of sleep ;). I think I would really like to go to part time in the future, maybe when DS starts having activities. I really like how he learns so much at daycare (although I'm pretty sure he learned to pick his nose at daycare and I don't know how to stop that). So I think we're in daycare at least until Kindergarten, regardless of what I do jobwise.

Ouch, yeah, that's probably tough.

When you say "weaning" did you mean you're still bf'ing at night? If so, you are a TROOPER, ma'am! I can't imagine hehe

I forget--what do you do for work or are you a stay-at-home mom? I sooo so wish I could try doing the stay-at-home thing after #2 or at least cut back to part time. I may have to with daycare costs being what they are. I may have to do a half time thing for a year or so (if my co will even let me) until Liam is in pre-k (age 4).

Any day now...I'll at least test by the 1st. DH is traveling this week and next week, so it's just me and the little man and he is very needy with daddy gone. I'm having trouble remembering to pee in a cup... I need to just set one on the toilet when I remember.

Ehh starting to think I'm not pregnant since I've gotten a little crampy off and on the last couple of days, feeling like AF is on the way. I tested this morn for the F of it since it was a FR which saaays 99% accuracy 3 days before AF is due. HOWEVER haha I did use an expired test (8/15), so it could just be that the test wouldn't be accurate anymore. I'll try the new test I have tomorrow or Thur. I'm set for blood work on Friday, but I don't know that I'll get that done if I don't get a positive test by Friday...

It definitely will suck if this first try failed since we've already spent a bunch at the fertility place on try #1. I shouldn't complain though. I can't imagine what it would be like dealing with IUI or IVF and I'm lucky I haven't had to do any of that. Hopefully the stress didn't kill my chances since everything has gotten screwed up from day 1 with my meds over the past 2-3wks. At least this time I'll have all my meds on hand and ready to start if we have to start over for Feb. That and I'll definitely be getting a HSG this go-round like I did before I got preg with my little man.

I'm still rooting for us all!:)

Hang in there ladies!

I have it in my head that there is no possible way it could happen the first try, so I'm doing a pretty good job of ignoring it :) And my husband is traveling for the next 2 weeks, so me and my little man are super busy, which also helps. We are working on night weaning...oh boy...

I'm just doing it literally for fun and because what else do I have to do for the next week and a half as I wait it out haha.

Has anyone been feeling anything going on down there lately? I've had all sorts of pangs and pressure and fun stuff. I don't think I'm normally this "active" down there, so who knows what's up haha

If I don't get a BFP this month, I'm totally blaming it on the DH since he was too wrecked to BD last Friday and we just didn't on Sunday haha Other than that, we BD'd so much it got OLD fast hahaaa

I should at least try, but I'm not. DS is getting his molars in and is not sleeping more than 2 hrs at a time, so I think it would be worthless...and I'm not 100% sure where my thermometer is after we moved...Although I'd try if I happened upon it. I know I saw it somewhere...

Awww hehe "old ladies". ;) Funny because it's true that most people assume that those trying to have babies are always in their 20s or early 30s, but we've proven that is just not true.

Go ladies! Fingers crossed for the lot of us! :)))

Kari-are you temping right now to see if your temp stays up? I wasn't going to but for the hell of it I decided to hehe So far, so good. I go in for labs on the 29th (progesterone and hcg), so one week from Friday. I'm not as antsy as I was when waiting to confirm my last pregnancy, but I'm definitely more tuned in because I'm nearing the end of the line here.

And I'm 36, so I guess we are just a bunch of old ladies ;)

I finally got a smiley on my OPK on Friday. And Saturday. Friday I finally got to see what a positive wondflo looks like. There was no mistaking it. The test line was super dark by 2 minutes before the control line had a chance to darken up. So, TWW it is :)

Pffft QTLADY! You look like you're about 30. I'm 37, which is practically 40 as far as I'm concerned and 40 is the end of the line for me haha

Best of luck to you by the way! Fingers crossed everything goes well for you with this new doc.

Take care:)

I'm not really a hopeful but was just reading through the thread.
Abby - The Wondfo's are tricky but if you use them twice a day you should cover it. Some people the line gradually gets darker to match the test line. Mine just stays kinda light and then bam, it's there. I actually used a digital today and really haven't seen much EWCM but said, oh what the heck and the smiley face was there. Guess I didn't miss it. As far as when to time BD - it is supposed to be before you ovulate, so it's helpful to BD even before you get your surge. Know that you should O 12-48 hours after a positive opk.

Artistcat- Good luck to you this cycle and when you start your IUI. I had three of them so I feel like a pro. Sad as that is. I wish you well!

I wish you all well this time. I'm not trying really because I'm having my initial consult with a Naturopath doctor on Thursday. She treats with herbs and the first section of my treatment is a detox, so I'm scared to even try because we aren't supposed to do it during the treatment, which is between 3-4 months, although, who am I kidding? It has been two years- I shouldn't be that worried it would happen. It's going to be really hard to not try since I have been for a while, but I'll just have to do it. My age is not helping matters and yes, I am older than probably all of you! Also, I did have more bloodwork done, which my fertility clinic didn't even do and it's kind of important, so I won't be going back there. We did decide not to go the IVF route for now. We are planning on moving, so whenever that happens and wherever that is, maybe we'll consider it then.

Well, I was starting to think I'd missed O entirely for this month but I finally got a positive OPK today as well as fertile-type CM so, yipee! Of course, such a late O will technically make me a February Hopeful! DH's b-day is early February, so that would be an awesome gift! Good luck everyone!

Thanks for your helpful answers! I particularly didn't know about the AM testing. I have always taken the test first thing in the morning and then again sometimes in the evening. Good luck to all three of us as I'm pretty sure we're going to be on a very similar timeline this month!

One last little bit, your end goal is to fertilize the egg during the approximately 30 hours it takes to move down the fallopian tube, possibly by having sperm already waiting for it.

And here's my (brief/limited) experience with them and based on questions I've asked my doc:

1. The second line gradually darkened until it matched the test line for me. This was over the course of maybe 3 days. I am only testing the week ovulation is supposed to take place, so I can't provide any info on a FULL month of testing. You CAN miss the surge because it can have a very short window. However, if you're testing twice a day, you shouldn't miss it:) What time of day are you testing? They say to NOT test in the AM as the LH doesn't begin to synthesize until the AM, so it's best to test afternoon and then evening. You'll also want to refrain from drinking much AND hold your bladder for a couple hrs so that your urine is concentrated when you test. I tested around noon and then again around 6-6:30.

2 and 3. I've had a lot of EW CM all week. It began Sunday and has continued through today. I expect it to continue a couple more days and then we'll see if we conceived or not. I forget if the flow stops or continues or changes if the egg is fertilized. I'm pretty certain I probably O'd yesterday based on everything I FELT going on down there. I had pressure and fullness all day around the left ovary where I was told the egg would be released from. Prior to yesterday, I had a couple days of feeling it "prep". Today I feel almost nothing down there, so I honestly think I O'd yesterday. Fingers crossed! We'll still continue the BD just in case.

As far as when to BD, from what I've read, heard (via doc, etc), I've found OPK doesn't necessarily tell you WHEN exactly you're going to O. None of this is going to tell you exactly when. My doc basically told us that once the OPK was positive, to BD every other day. We've been BD'ing every day just to cover ourselves (on day 6 now and yes, it's getting old haha) Only a couple more days though--we can do it! :) But yeah, supposedly once you have a LH surge (or positive OPK), that means you should O in the next 12-48 hrs. Sperm can survive (supposedly) up to 5 days. You'll want them there spermies to be on their way to the source prior to O (at least that's what I've been told is best), but there's no reason to stop sending them to the egg for a couple more days after predicted O juuust in case (that's why we're continuing the BD through probably Sunday), since you don't know EXACTLY when O takes place.

Sorry if that was TMI. That was a long one haha

I'll give my input real quick before I run out to lunch...

1. It doesn't work that way for me...I haven't seen a positive on one yet, but my second line gets lighter and darker and lighter and darker, all month, seemingly randomly. Maybe I'm weird ;) I think it will just be really dark when the LH surge is detected. If you look one of those charts that shows what happens with your hormone levels during the month, the LH surge is like 1000X higher than it is the rest of the month...

2. I'm not 100% on this, I just know that I'm pretty dry the rest of the month and then I see a change around the time that I need to be doing the BD. I have a hard time reading the charts that show that stuff. I hope to get better at this part...

3. When you get a +, you will want to BD that day and the following day at a minimum.

This is my 2 cents, but I could be off. I'm just getting back into all this.

Kari

I have a some questions about OPKs. I always assumed I was using them correctly, but lately I've been doubting myself. I've been using the Wondfo cheapies twice a day, by the way.

1. Is the second line supposed to gradually darken until it matches the first line? Or is it just negative until you get your positive? I keep thinking I'm missing O because the second line is so faint and then all of a sudden I get a positive.

2. If I was going by CM alone, I would think I ovulated several days before I actually get the positive OPK. This is throwing me off and making me second guess things.

3. What is the best timing for BDing around a positive on your OPK?

Anyone know the answers to these questions, lol?

Ahh okay, gotcha. That does stink:(

Considering I've only been getting negatives on my Wonfo OPKs, I was starting to doubt whether or not they work. However, I just got my first positive, so we are still lookin good here. :) Now we sit and wait..well, after Saturday or so we can sit back and wait, since we'll still keep 'er goin here for another couple days hah

I was testing twice/day until I figured out I had screwed up the 'advanced OPK' that I was using. Then I went and bought the regular (expensive digital) OPK and have been doing it in the evening. When I get a positive, I'll do an internet cheapie and see what it looks like, but I want to make sure they work and I know what I'm looking for before I switch to them full time. Last time, I bought one 2-month OPK and it lasted me the 3 months it took me to get a BFP. This time, I've been testing on and off for like a year and a half and have gone through a couple boxes of digital tests and about 60-80 internet cheapies. But since I finally got AF, I think I can get serious now. I'll feel a little more comfortable when I either have had a full cycle or get a +OPK.

There are certainly a lot of rules for this stuff...

Are you testing twice/day? If not, remember, OPKs can miss your O because the window can be so small (like 10 hrs or so!). Also, what time of day do you test? It's best to test afternoon and evening, as LH doesn't begin to be synthesized until the morning, so it wouldn't generally show up in morning urine. You're also supposed to not drink much before testing and hold your urine for a couple of hrs so that urine will be concentrated. Shooo, I may have missed MY window for OPK testing but I honestly think I'm at the tail end here w/ all my symptoms combined (hence the daily BD here heh good LORD can I not wait till this wkend is over so we can take a damn BREAK! making a baby is hard work haha)

Also, do you get other symptoms like feeling the pressure or twinges around your ovaries when you're about to O? I usually go by that and CM and now for the first time, by OPK.

When I temped for DS, I thought it was pretty good. My temps were usually within .1 or .2 unless they were on the move. I had a pretty good system, though, where if I woke up, say at 4 am to pee, before I got out of bed, I would temp, and just not read it until I got up for the day. Because you know it's supposed to be immediately after a long sleep, before any big movements, before you get out of bed, yadda yadda yadda... Now, DS is usually stuck to me like a little spider monkey after midnight and he may wake me up at 2am, 4am, 5am or he may sleep until we wake him up at 7 to get dressed, but basically, I rarely have a solid 4 hr block to get a good temp. So I am pretty dependent on my OPKs right now.

Still no +OPK, by the way, but my CM indicates that I may not be out for the month yet even though it's CD26. Still waiting...

Do you guys find temping to be highly inaccurate? haha I mean, I guess it's hard if you ever have to get up in the middle of the night to pee, like myself. But yeah, it's just not gonna be accurate if you have to deal with that nonsense. My temps have been up and down by the .4 degrees they say your temp can go up for O for almost a wk now. I know I'm super close to O though because my test last night was almost +. Yesterday around noon the 2nd line was almost non-existant but at about 6:30pm, it was nearly solid, so I must be close. FYI, those urine tests are also not as sensitive or accurate as blood. Probably why my doc wanted me to come in today to repeat LH and other labs. I'm not into spending $50 just to get those done, however. I wonder if I went to my GP if they'd do those labs and I could get the results for free instead of at the specialist where they'll charge $50/pop for an "office visit" heh hrmm....

I know how you feel, Chris. You don't WANT to have to do a bunch of tests or medical procedures, but it feels good to take positive steps in the right direction! Hopefully you will be able to announce a BFP very soon!

Just had another appointment at the gyn. I already knew the results of the laparoscopy I had in November, but I got to ask a lot of questions. And I saw photos. That was soooo strange, to see the inside of my belly!

Since I'm already on day 6 of this cycle, we'll have one more chance to do it naturally. If this doesn't work we'll start IUI. I already have the medications and a nurse taught me how to inject myself. Felt so scared to put the needle in my leg. I was surprised I didn't even feel it go in. Felt a bit like acupuncture needles. But still I'm glad we'll start with tablets, and just one injection to stimulate ovulation.

I really wanted to get pregnant without treatment, but now that it's almost time to start IUI, I'm actually glad that we're going to get some help. It feels really good to be positive again after slowly losing hope.

Anyway, one more chance before IUI, and the final chance to get pregnant before I'm 35, since my B-day is Feb. 1st (test date will probably be the 3rd). I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Good luck to all!

Good luck to all still in!

Oh man, I didn't realize about the cysts. So were you diagnosed with PCOS? I always wonder if I'll eventually have issues with my PCOS, but if we can just get through one more pregnancy, I'll be cool as I'd like to have at least one more child.

I know a couple people with the same issues as you. I'd definitely want to get back into the doc myself as well, so I wish you all the best on that front!

Still no + OPK for me. The nurse said if I don't have a + by Thur or Fri I could call to come in, but I don't know if I'll rush getting back in just yet. This stuff isn't cheap. Though I honestly don't think I'm set to O until at least tomorrow or Friday (or possibly even this weekend.)

Fingers crossed for us! :)

It took 21 cycles to get pregnant with my DD. I actually ended up having surgery to treat ovarian cysts and endometriosis and got pregnant 4 months later. I am just worried that I may be having some of the same troubles and just want to get the doctor's take on things. I have been using OPKs and getting positives and I have felt like we've had good timing BDing, but still nothing! We shall see!

Hi Abby!

Doc appt=still waiting on labs which is soo unlike them! haha the nurse said she'd call me yesterday afternoon with the results in case they wanted me to come right back in if the surge hadn't happened yet. Ah well. I've been doing my own OPK (starting yesterday), so I'm covered there and not planning to go back to the doc till I have a + test, as it would cost me $300 at the end of this wk if I went daily and nooo thank you haha They're not doing anything other than monitor me and prescribe me support meds once the preg is confirmed (and progesterone prior to that.) I'll have to go weekly once I'm preg, so I really need to save that $! I'm on CD 12, so it should happen any day if it hasn't happened yet.

As far as the US, I was correct in that I am likely going to O from Lefty heh She said that follicle was looking pretty ripe, so could be any day or minute. I sort of don't feel like it's happened just yet--probably because my temp hasn't spiked yet.

OPK has been - thus far and I'm going to test again in about an hour. They can be hard to catch a + on, however, as your window can be as small as about 10 hrs so apparently they suggest you test twice/day in case your window is that small for your surge. We shall seeee...BD'ing has continued through today. That's 3 days in a row weee come onnnn swimmers! haha

I don't think 6 months sounds all that bad. Though I know about your past struggles so I can see why you'd want to get to the doc. What helped you eventually conceive? I honestly can't recall that part of your journey. There are SO many factors that it is just insane. It's hard to believe some people can get pregnant practically by just looking at their man's naughty bits hah

Thanks for askin about me! :) I'll keep ya posted during my 2ww......

How did the doctor's visit go?

I'm on CD 14 here and hoping we're actually able to get some good BDing in this month. I feel like the days are flying by right now! Hard to believe we've already been trying again for almost 6 months. I was really hoping things would happen a little easier this time around. Definitely making a doctor's appointment soon, but trying not to get too worried quite yet!

I would imagine equally crazy :). 2 yr olds run the world don't they? My little man is a busy busy handful, but he's awesome. He's starting to use the potty, when he is in the mood. We just got him a play kitchen so he can do some cooking on his own, while I'm trying to cook in the real kitchen. It's still new, but I think it may be a successful diversion ;) And he really likes to sleep in the big bed (with mommy and daddy), especially in the middle of the night, which tends to hamper providing him with a sibling ;)--hence the need for OPKs...

Yeah, for whatever reason, I've (almost) always been able to feel it. I just found it weird to go from almost no CM to free-flowing this morn haha when I was almost positive I wouldn't get to this point until later this week--closer to the predicted O time according to the app I use for my cycle. But again--wonky cycles mean unexpected O times. So crazy we will probably be pregnant again together! :) How's toddler life goin for you? As crazy as it is for us? hehe

That would be pretty cool to be able to feel ovulation. I usually have some indication by CM, and last month, I had 4 days where I was completely distracted about BDing, so I'm pretty sure I ovulated last month ;) I love my OPKs when they work though. For DS, the first month I didn't get a positive on my first cycle because it ended up being 45 days so I thought I had missed it, when I was actually just early. The second 2 months, I found them to be very helpful. The 3rd month, I would have missed it with out the positive OPK, and that was the magic month.

Sorry to hear the frustrating news everyone is having.

As for me, I'm back to the doc this morn to check where my levels are at. I'm more curious about my ovaries than anything though, so I'm excited about the US. I felt something on the left side this morn which would make O a few days early, but considering my cycle has been weird last few months, it wouldn't shock me. Good thing we BD'd yesterday hah! Also, CM has completely changed--like overnight. I guess we shall see. I'm going to try my very first OPK tonight, so we'll see how that goes too.

Best of luck to everyone that's still in for Jan!

I'm sorry Kari, that's really too bad!

I'm out for this month too. I think I'm going to take a couple months break, and really try to focus on losing weight to see if that helps. My husband's doctor suggested that he try the atkins diet for a couple months to help lose the weight faster and then switch to a more normal healthier diet after that, so I think we'll try that.

So, the OPK with the flashy smileys apparently doesn't follow the same instructions as the regular OPKs...Apparently the first time you use the holder, you are setting your baseline levels. I'm not sure the first time I used this one, it was probably months ago. So, all my flashy smileys just mean that my estrogen levels are higher than when I set my baseline. So I went and bought a regular OPK and I got nothing. Since I just had my first AF at Christmas, I have no idea how long my cycle is, but it's possible that ovulation is yet to come this month...But I'm not holding my breath. It will be helpful to get a second AF and see where my cycle length is.

Good luck everyone!

I'm 11DPO today. I did a test this morning and unfortunately it was a BFN.

I really felt the pressure this month, because of the laparoscopy I had last month. Even though one of my ovaries is blocked, the gyn said it was totally possible to get pregnant naturally. And she kept on saying that right after the surgery chances are higher. That, and the fact that if it's a negative again this time the whole IUI treatment will become reality, made me feel like this month was a super important cycle.

But, I know it's still early, I haven't lost all hope yet...

Yay, Kari! I'm super happy for you. Hard to believe getting AF is a cause for excitement, but in your case it's cause to jump for joy! Good luck in January emoticon

I am IN!!! I am super IN!!! I finally, finally got AF right before Christmas, with DS still breastfeeding some, now 25 months PP. And today, I got a flashy smiley on my OPK. I bought the one this time that is supposed to flash for 2 days and then be solid smiley during your peak, because with a 2 yr old, I need all the help I can get, right :)

I'm also in! Though I guess more for the very end of Jan to beginning of February. AF FINALLY came today (3 days late which had me nervous after a missed cycle in Oct) after BD helping it out haha I go in for baseline labs and US next wk to my fertility doc to make sure everything is on track. Fingers crossed my (nearly) 37 y/o reproductive system is still holding strong!😊

AF is due for me January 1st, lol. Wouldn't that be an amazing surprise for the new year? Not feeling particularly hopeful since it took 21 cycles to get pregnant the first time. I guess we'll see.
