Wendy's is really great at making the sandwiches how you want them around here (as are some of the other places like McDonalds). I was really trying to stay low carb and would order them with just a lettuce leaf wrapped around them and there was no problem with that.

You could go to the Wendy's site on line, and see if they give values for their menu, then reduce the carbs by 30 grams (a half a bun is one exchange (approximately 15 grams carb), so the whole bun should be 2 exhanges or 30 grams carb.) It may not be perfect and would not account for any condiment that could still be on the bun when you threw it, but would be fairly close. In future, just ask them for the bun on the side. My sister used to do that all the time....

I've been away all day and the traffic kept me out and stopped longer.

I stopped at Wendy's and got a grilled chicken sandwich and threw the bread away, a side salad and a bottle of their white milk. Don't know the numbers etc, any thoughts on in a pinch like this evening, did I have a better choice? Thanks for your input.

once you assemble your recipes there is a site called BigOven where you can enter your recipes and then it will generate shopping lists for you.

There was one that kept advertising, I think on here, that they did plans for individual people based on their likes and was for people with diabetes.

A couple books that might be helpful for ideas would be Grain Brain and Grain Brain Cookbook, Wheat Belly (I think that had a cookbook, too), and whatever Bernstein's books are and Adkins. Grain Brain Cookbook might not have complete plans, but you can choose from the different recipes in there what will go together and tell what the carbs are. And that Texas Style Chili is good.

I don't know how good it is, and there is a charge for it...... but there is an ap called "Real Plans"

I got an email from Food Renegade in which they featured this app. Sounds like it can be customized to the individual person and circumstances.

I don't have that kind of phone, but if you do, you may want to check it out to see if it will do what you want.... Maybe you could google it?

Good luck....

Edit: I don't know how diabetic friendly this app is but if anyone want to check it out and let us know.....

Pat, I'm looking for better nutrition and some ideas so I can also batch cook and freeze meals.
I love to cook, but always seem to get more carbs than I need.

I tried others meal plans but I think I do much better making my own.
Make batches and freeze them.
If you can cook you can eliminate so many chemicals.
Are you looking for convenience or for better nutrition.
You can do it. Pat in Maine.

Might try dLife foodstuffs. Can't remember how I got to that. They don't do low carb for theirs if you are looking for that, though.

I'm looking for some good, healthy meal plans besides the ones on Sparkpeople. Anybody have any good meal plans or resources?
Thanks
