Also, CHRYS00 , once your blood sugar is on the rise, stop eating sugar and find a mini-meal or snack that includes PROTEIN. From what I understand, eating the protein with a more complex carbohydrate can slow down the absorption rate of the glucose and creates a steadier processing because it stops spiking your insulin production so much, which is what too much sugar does. The protein-based snack allows you to stabilize into a more normal glucose response... it can be as simple as half a peanut butter or tuna salad sandwich, or half a cup of cottage cheese with a whole wheat cracker, or a hard boiled egg and a piece of toast...
I hope that makes sense. LOL sometimes I know what I'm trying to say but it doesn't come out right... LOL

P.S. If it is time for a regular meal, have a little juice beforehand so you don't pass out, and use your normal meal to stabilize afterward.

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!
P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL

Actually.... juice works faster, because your body doesn't have to convert it to a liquid!... My endocrinologist advised me to use juice al the time, because I keep crashing after I take the glucose. It works. emoticon

That was happening to me when I first started Victoza. Talk to your doctor about what is happening to get some guidance. Also keep glucose tablets handy, or drink some orange juice. I've been told that is just as good as glucose at a raising your blood sugar

What medicines are you taking? You need to see your doctor so he/she can adjust them.

My blood sugar is dropping and Im making myself sick trying to keep it up! How do you handle drops that keep dropping!

I am hitting low 70s. I drank gatorade and it went up to 92. I ate taco bell burrito and an hour later it was dropping again. Was 72 and dietitian said 70 and below is bad! Dont know how to get it back up and stay up without making myself sick from over eating or drinking sugar drinks.
