There's some advice here that might work, but if it were me, I'd give my schedule to my doctor and let him/her decide when that should be... that's the person who needs to know, right?
Good luck!

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!
P.S. I looked up enthusiasm, and it says the root words mean God within... interesting...!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL

I'd test after waking up at the 11 - 12 sleep. I'd let your doctor know that's the best time for you since you have a wonky schedule.

Good luck! emoticon

Hello. My doctor wants me to test my fasting BS in the morning.

The problem is that I do not have a normal schedule and am finding it extremely difficult to work out anytime that would count as fasting.

I work overnights (11pm-7am) I usually end up eating a snack between 5-6 am (helps me stay awake lol)

I go to sleep at 8am but only sleep until 11-12 (it just depends on the day). Then I am awake until either 3-4pm and then sleep until 7pm.

So my schedule is all wonky as you can see.

I looked it up and asked and everyone says fasting should be 8-10 hours and after you wake up but that is just not possible. The most I could call it would be 7 hours and it would be an hour or two after I was wake.

Any ideas of what I could test?
