Insulin pumps have bee around since the 80's but, as far as I can tell, the technology hasn't changed much. I keep waiting for a closed-loop monitoring system that can monitor glucose levels every two hours and then send the information to a pump - which could then dose insulin accordingly.

What are the latest technological advances that people are using out there? Let's hear from those of you who have pumps or those who are interested in getting one but still have questions.

I, myself, am taking injections but would probably make the change if I they ever make one that is clos ed-loop control. My mother used a pump for about 20 years and I took care of her the last few years of her life, so I am relatively familiar with insulin pumps. It has been a few years, though.
