I havce not seen any other sites tha tsay aquafaba- esp in the amounts I would ingest are bad
That particular link - if you read more on it says not to eat millet too.

Anyway- I am going to continue on with using it.
I just take a bit now and then and use it for mayo- I am sure it is better than oil

White-Green- if you want to send the Dutch links that would be great too. Might not be 100% accurate- but google can translate. I wish I could read Dutch emoticon

and oddly enough I am glad you posted that link. I found articles against eating millet and all kinds of things- I forget about sites like that but it is good to know-

My point was that there are less than positive aspects, probably, about using aquafaba. it's good to discuss things, I believe.

By no means do I mean to promote any organisation and I certainly don't agree with the use of eggs etc.
I posted that link but I could have gone on to find other articles - however my time is limited and as I said on the general chat thread, English is not my mother's tongue... Reading and doing research in English takes a lot more effort and time for me than when I try to find information in my own language (Dutch).

I do appreciate your effort to research saponins - yet..this particular article is written by a woman who is part of the Weston Price Foundation
This foundation is always trying to undermine T.Colin Campbell. Dr. Essesltyn and Dr. Furhman.
They promote eggs and the dairy industry.

They do have several anit-vegan articles online.

I spoke about it in chat thread

I am hoping Dr. Greger speaks about aquafaba and saponins.
Waaaay back Dr. Ornish used to talk about using bean water to cook with so I have been doing it.

With regard to the use of aquafaba: as I understood it, aquafaba contains a lot of saponins. (Soap-like substance, that's what makes the aquafaba so 'cohesive' and bubbly).
These saponines are the plant's defense against being eaten by animals. It means that they are not very healthy to eat as far as I know. They are slightly toxic.
One reason why it's better to cook your own beans rather than buy cans is that the factories don't cook the beans long enoug and don't remove the saponins. When cooking our beans we're supposed to take off the white 'froth' that gets on top when the beans start to boil. That 'froth' is what is in the aquafaba.
So while aquafaba is used more and more by vegans because it's so handy, it may not be the best choice if you think about it.

I tried to find an article in English about this:
www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/aqua
fa
ba-bean-water/

While I don't agree with the conclusion that one had better eat eggs, I think it sums up a few of the facts about aquafaba that may be interesting to read.
Quote:
"Most alarmingly, Dr. Reaney’s research demonstrated the presence of saponins in aquafaba responsible for its soap-like foaming effect. This confirmed a hunch to that effect prior to testing. These chemicals are dangerous to human health, contributing to the development of leaky gut and potentially a miscarriage risk. "
