Thanks for the welcome. I still haven't gotten back into my meditation habit. But, with feeling accountability here, I will!
What are the mind, body, spirit team goals?

Lynn: It's never too late to join the party!

Amanda: I'm glad you enjoy them. Headspace is a fun, easy way to start. And I do think you can always go back and see the animations. There are several and I've heard them encourage you to go watch them if you have not already.

AM: Sometimes I like mantras. I think for me it depends on what's going on in my outside world. Do you have any favorites You'd like to share here?

If anyone is interested the Oprah and Deepak meditation starts October 29. chopracentermeditation.com/

I'm a big fan of mantras. In addition to chanting them, myself, I love to listen to mantras being performed, especially if they are set to music! It's not everyone's cup of tea; sometimes a housemate will tell me to put on headphones so they don't have to listen. However, even they take note of some of the mantras, and acknowledge the profound effect that mantras can have.

I tried that Headspace site. Didn't watch the intro video; hope I can go back and do that. I got started on a series of ten 5-minute meditations, though I'm not sure how. I answered some questions, but don't remember being asked about time. Do they always start beginners out with 5 minutes at a time? I had planned for 10 minutes, but this won't hurt. I may even start doing one in the morning and one in the evening. Fun to try something easy and new. Thanks for the great "challenge" Eva! emoticon

Blessed Be, Amanda

This is a great idea! It will help with the stresses that can happen in late fall and the holiday season.

I use the Insight Timer app. I have used it for a few years now. It is free and have a premium version that has more options but I used hay free one for a while and it worked great.

Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Willing is not enough; we must do.

Autumn is the time when our bodies begin to slow down for the season. The nights are cooler, we are craving comfort.

Many of us find that comfort in overindulgence of some sort. Food is just one of those choices. So this autumn I encourage you to develop or deepen your meditation practice when you find yourself in need of external comfort. This can be simple, like saying "In" on an in a breath, and "Out" on an out breath. It can include a mantra or chant you repeat. You can choose a favorite guided meditation or maybe try a new one instead. If you have a preferred method that doesn't include a guide, use that and begin to develop a deeper practice. I personally enjoy a nice walking meditation. And of course, Yoga and Tai Chi are both beautiful forms of moving meditations.

I have a bit of a strange philosophy about meditation. Prayer is when you ask a question/make a request, but meditation is when you slow down to listen for those answers. Often you find your center.

I've been using an app called Headspace for a couple of weeks now, to help me get back into my practice. (Yes it is a practice. No one is perfect at meditation.) It's free and I'm finding it fits nicely in my day. They do offer a premium service, but I'm only using the free stuff at the moment.

They also have a website. www.headspace.com/

If you have an app, a video, or a method you personally enjoy please share. You never know when it might help a fellow goddess out.
