Hi, HOGWARTS_STORY!
Thanks for the warm welcome! I hope hubby is improving every day...

I live inland about 4 hours from the coast, so the effects from Hurricane Florence were much less than those folks on the coast. I am sure thankful for that. A tree fell in my back yard, but I think that's the only loss. I sure cannot complain.

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. I love the softness in the air!

Hi Junea and emoticon to the team.
I hope all your family are safe, we have seen it on the news here in England. Hurricane Florence has caused so much damage and heartache.

This Summer has been a bust for me one way or another DH has been ill for most of it and that ahs meant lots of Hospital appointments and unexpected visits as well. he is slowly on the mend as the meds he was taking were having a bad effect on him. I am hoping they have tings sorted out we will see as the new meds kick in. He needs them for his heart but it is getting the balance right that is the tricky bit.
Anyway I am still around and will be back to see what is happening for Autumn.

I just found this team. I am going to walk 258 miles which is the same as from where I live to where family lives on the coast. By the time I get there (virtually), maybe that area will have fully recovered from Hurricane Florence.

Thank you Mrs Eva I love the site as it has so many lovely walks. You can chose short walks around a city so you feel you have accomplished something quickly or longer ones. They all come with information and pictures about each stage reached. Some stages take a long time to complete, the longer walks are good for a group as you can complete it easier plus it helps to spur you on.

Sestri Levante
Sestri Levante was an ancient maritime and merchant centre. Originally a small island with a promontory, it was later connected to the mainland.

Saturday 7th July: 3 Miles

Sunday 8th is a rest day

9th - 15th
M= 5 miles
T = 5 miles

Monterosso al Mare
In 1870, a railroad was built which opened Monterosso up to the outside world. Most people still arrive by rail.
Monterosso has the only extensive sand beach in the Cinque Terre.
The area is famous for its many lemon trees

July 16th - 22nd = 21 miles
Vernazza, which dates back to the 11th century, has no car traffic, and remains one of the truest "fishing villages" on the Italian Riviera. It is the only natural port of Cinque Terre and is famous for its elegant houses.

My goal is to walk from Memphis, Tn to my house in Medina, Tn. That's 95.5 miles. When I reach that location, I'll plan the next part of my journey. As of today, I'm 4 miles in. Just 91.5 miles left to go!

Maggz, you'll want rest days, but I'd choose 3-5 days per week to do your workouts. I'll probably report in each Monday what my miles were from the previous week. Most of my challenges I post will be for you to do over the season, at your own pace. It could be something like this and it might be about healthy food. And It could be something suggested by a fellow goddess. I do love a good suggestion.

I have heard of the Zombie Run app. A friend of mine's son loves it. I don't recall Yes Fit Virtual Races. Feel free to post links if you have them!

A friend brought it to my attention that her Fitbit only records as "active minutes" after 10 minutes of movement. If you want to go by the step count in your "Active Minutes" and calculate that 2000 steps is a mile for the average person that's okay.

Oooohhhhh! I’m excited! I needed a kick in the ass for the summer to do something. I’ve been wanting to get back into wogging (walking/jogging intervals) and this is perfect.

Have any of you ever heard of/done Zombies, Run! app or the Yes Fit virtual races? I think I’ll do one episode of Zombies, Run! They’re about 30 minutes. I have the time for that, so I’m gonna do it!

Maybe I totally missed it, but is this supposed to be everyday?

emoticon for that article link! Can't get up against a wall in my crowded apartment, but I have a nice tall headboard on my sleigh bed, so I'll try it there!

Let's play Step It Up! this summer.

You can walk, jog, run, or ride a bike (stationary counts) to a destination of your choice.

Rules:

emoticon This is concentrated exercise. Your steps to the bathroom don't count. But you 15-minute mile walking exercise program does. So does your 10-minute walk on your break or the treadmill at the gym. Keep in mind 20 minutes of walking at a steady pace is roughly one mile, so if you don't have a fitness gadget to count it for you, you can do like I will do and add up the minutes to judge distance.

emoticon The average person takes about 10 minutes to bike 1 mile. If your bike has an odometer follow that, if not time yourself and do the math.

emoticon For fun, pick a destination to reach for the equinox. What do you want to celebrate the first day of fall? Remember your walking, running or biking there over the next quarter. If you don't want to do that? Maybe train for a virtual race. www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/virtual-
ra
ce-home.asp

emoticon Check in so we can cheer you on. Let us know how far you've made it each week.

A few reminders: It's summer. If you exercise outside stay hydrated.

Remember stretching is a good thing. My favorite post walk stretch, legs up the wall. You can even do this one on the bed if going on the floor is uncomfortable for you. Here's an article from Runner's World talking about it's positive effects, post walk/run.
