Hamburger Milk Gravy Pot Pie
Serves 6
Diabetic HE Cookbook - page 215

16 ounces ground 90% lean turkey or beef(I always use 99% lean tureky)
1/2 cup frozen peas
2 cups (16 oz can) sliced carrots, rinsed and drained
2 cups skim kilk
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 (7.5oz) can Pillsbury refrigerated biscuits

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8-by-8- inch baking dish with butter flavored cooking spray. In a
large skiller sprayed with butter flavored cooking spray, brown meat. Sir in peas and carrots. Ina
covered jar, combine skim milk and flour. Shake well to combine. Add milk mixture to meat mixture.
Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until mixture thickenes. Pour meat mixture into prepared baking
dish. Separate bisuits and cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Evenly sprinkle biscuit pieces over top og
meat misture. Bake 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Remove from oven. Quickly spray
biscuit pieces with butter flavored cooking spray. Place baking dish on a wire rack and let set 5
minutes. Cut into 6 servings.

Diabetic: 2 Meat, 1 1/2 starch, 1/2 vegetable
