Sounds fun! I think games like RockBand and Guitar Hero have opened up a lot of us that would normally be too shy to be heard ;) They can be so fun!

Just call me Prin (easier on your fingers!) (unless you were counting that as exercise!!!)

I sang a song in Japanese at karaoke today! I'm usually too shy/worried about messing up the words/my bad singing to do it. Granted it was the box kind so it was just my friends but it felt really good.

I used to do Tai Chi Chih, which is distinctly different from Tai Chi Chuan. Which one are you interested in learning?
Tai Chi Chih is a series of 19 movements and one pose, while Tai Chi Chuan is 108 different movements and more of a martial art.
I loved Tai Chi Chih. I used to do it every day in the morning (I should really get back into it.)

I tried cooking these edible wild plants that all my neighbors were talking about. They kind of look like asparagus. It was really fun hunting for them but I don't think they have a really distinctive taste.

I am exploring a Tai Chi...The price seems to be right and now if I just get the nerve to go to the studio.

Has anyone done Tai Chi before? What can I expect? Any encouragement would be helpful. Thank you! ^_^

I finally organized my Zumba music so I can do a mini routine at home when I don't have a class at the Y. (Unfortunately, they cut my Tuesday night class for the summer, so I really need to get going at home.) Here's my tune list:

Que te mueve
Zumbalicious
Boro boro
Drop it on me

(It almost killed me to buy that last one. Ricky Martin!? SOOOOOO not me. Or so I thought. Who knew I was secretly a fan !) emoticon

So, it wasn't today, it was Sunday. But I just joined Spark yesterday, and I think I get a bye on the date just this once.

I tried tanking for the first time, in a PuG no less. Nothing exciting, it was WC on a level 17 druid. But still, tanking!

Today's new experience was going into the wine store I walk by every day while I'm exercising at work. It was very cool, and I have an idea for Christmas gifts for a few hard-to-buy for folks. (Yes, I am thinking about it now, especially for THEM, heh.)

edited for clarity, as usual.

I just planted a watermelon plant into our backyard. The soil's a little dry/unfit for growing plants, so we bought special Garden Soil.. but hopefully we'll keep it hydrated and get some fertilizer so the Garden Soil doesn't succumb to the dryness of the ground soil.

My new experience for today was to go to the gym at my work. I went to curves for a while last year, however other than that I have never been in a gym of any kind. Worked out for almost an hour before starting work. Hoping to make this a daily habit going forward.

This might sound dumb to everyone else but I find that I can go and do a half hour of stretching before bed. (You know after a night of raiding). And feel rested and relaxed enough to fall asleep. This is my something new for the month.

I think the biggest reason that I don't "find time" to exercise etc is because of all the mundane chores that take up my free time.

I see you mention Cooking dinner and Cleaning the kitchen. Since when did it become our job to do all this? Wait a min - forget I said this, it always has. This means that it is our job to fix this horrible misappropriation of duties!

So, from here on out, my exercising comes first :) and if this means that every other day someone else makes dinner or does dishes - so be it! HA HA! I feel so free right now! (now let's see if I have the ability to let things pile up when I won't do em!)

Ordered a movie via Fios Demand. I usually get the movies from Netflicks but I always forget to send them back. The On Demand is a bit pricey tho....

I rode my stationary bike for the first time since we bought our house over months ago. I only rode for about 15 minutes, since I had dinner to cook, and a kitchen to clean. But it felt good. I think I will have to move it down stairs so I can use it more.

Since I usually go to the gym to do my cardio, my TaeBo has been sitting lonely on the shelf. So for the first time in about 4 years I did a TaeBo DVD. It was a nice change of pace from the elliptical and since there was so much arm stuff I don't have to do anymore for upper body!! It kicked my butt, but not as bad as when I last did it so I guess I am making progress :)

Today I rode my bike for the first time in two years, I haven't touched it since highschool. I was a little winded at first, but I plan on making it a weekly event, especially since the path next to my house goes by the zoo and its quite pretty.

Also, I'm getting some pvp in before I hit lvl 50...so close! One quest should just about make me hit it =)

Well, after getting my first ever pedicure on Friday... today, I'm hittin' the pool that our Y has a contract with... for the first time.

Wish me luck... bein' in public in a bathing suit and all... I just hope no one else goes!!! It is a high school after all... indoor... not like a real summer attraction. Will be goin' with a friend as well... so I can show them all the 'moves' I remember from previous water aerobics classes.

What have YOU done "for the first time" lately???

I fell into a a burning ring of fire today and did the quest line in Nagrand. That was fun. Took my 52 rogue through ST and finished off 3 quests at least.

Last night (7/6/08) I did a bunch of quests (with 4 other guildies) in Blasted Lands culminating with a HUGE party with a bunch of ogres and me being crowed queen. Those ogres can busta move...

We are doing recruitment. I'm hesitant to take more of a General type roll as I spend to much time playing as it is. I wiffle about staying with my guild or trying a new one, but I like my guild.
I play mostly solo anyway and was lucky enough to get some help to get that blasted egg from the cave way up in the top of that maze of a place in Hinterlands. Today, Sat, I won't play because of work. I'll just research how to play, etc., online.

Those are the very reasons I refuse to run anything with pugs. If I can't get friends or a guild group to run it, I just won't do it.

If your guild never has enough people on to run 5 mans with, maybe you can suggest they go into recruitment mode.

Today I... took little Mogget to Shat to get her trained in alchemy and herbalism. She was maxed out at 300 already.

I hit 50 and got all the way to about 3 bars short of 51.

The gm wrote me back and said that I didn't contact them soon enough to get my honor back so I wrote to the complaint dept about the whole thing and said as soon as i realized it I opened a ticket. Within 5 minutes of doing it.

Whatever. Now I have quests for my least, very, very, very least favorite dungeon of Sunken Temple.

Oh, I did a run through ZF yesterday with a group that rolled need an an epic that dropped "for their alt". I was pissed. Today, I joined a group for ZF, we went in, I used the mallet and they left me. I had told them I need some necklace from a dwarf... nope.

We finally took "my" first trip into SSC last night. Although we didn't down Lurker, it was a great learning experience LOL Yeah, that's what we're callin' it ;o)

Too bad I can't join them for a first to the Eye on Monday night, but... work takes priority too much these days... and the next priority is health, so... WoW is still losing this race ;o)

OK, so I've been cheating the last few "new" things have just gone as comments while giving myself the point.

Tonight, the girl at the front desk @ my Y suggested (when I said I was going to run out and get something, as I'd not eaten in waaaay too long) Pal's, Big Chicken... I always thought it was just another chicken breast sandwich, but I was corrected! It's deli-shaved style chicken (white meat)... and overall has better numbers, and was a LOT more filling/satisfying than my usual there.

So, if you've got a Pal's and have never gotten one of these (like me)... go for the 331 calorie indulgence! Lettuce, Tomato... just tell 'em to hold the mayo (which, we're used to saying everywhere now anyway, right???)... and hold the cheese (if you're not calcium deprived, like me LOL).

Enjoy!

Choices... yup! While at the grocery store last night, after workout... I saw a new flavor of AquaFina water... berry pomagranite... it was nummy! found the single bottle first, but will definitely be getting a 6pack in the near future!

Unfortunately, also found (and tried!) another new thing last night... Mike's Hard Lemonade has another NEW item... Light Cranberry ;o) It was good, but dangit if the labels don't all spout "low cal, low carb, etc"... but nowhere could I find the actual numbers yet... gonna look closer, or web search it to record it.

Also a first, was able to stop with just one ;o)

It does seem to be all about choices, doesn't it? I suppose that is a motto for WoW, Life, and SP.

Yesterday my new thing was to get a massage - it had been about a year and a half, and it was wonderful! It also gave me time to get back "in touch" with my body and think about ways I can treat it better while I work on my SP goals.

One step at a time, until we get the urges and "out of control" under control... avoidance is a better option LOL

I s'pose someday, we'll learn to control our choices in the toughest of conditions! I've actually done that twice... while my workout buddies got "not so good" food choices, I "chose well, grasshoppa"... happens rarely LOL We're terrible influences on each other - we need to buddy up with another person to be our good influence!

Thanks lady! And yes, my toon is much better at cooking than I am ... she has been at 375 for about a year now, and I am doing good when I can make a sandwich edible. Perhaps that will change as my SP skills increase!

Last night my something new was NOT doing something. I was invited to go get a beer at a wings place after a meeting, but turned down the invite so I could avoid temptation. Usually I am always up for the "after" and all of the calories I can get, so that was very new!

Last night I made dinner for my husband for the first time in ... years, I guess. He is a great cook and I never really learned, so usually this is his job around the house.

Anyway, it was pretty much bought and pre-prepped stuff, but he was excited that I even tried and even more excited when it turned out to be edible - and some bites were even good :).

Ever get a really good sirloin (that's technically 2 servings in size) and able to stop at half of it?

w00t! I succeeded at that tonight! Of course, I had to, because the place also has these spiral fries (basically, fresh/homemade chips) that are to die for... and first time on that too - stopped at half the restaurant-sized serving!

Both are resting comfortably in a "to go" box in my fridge... and it's HANDS OFF to everyone, hubby AND the dog! (if ya don't end up seeing the same in my log tomorrow, you'll know the dog learned how to open the fridge heheh)

Yay! Hubby brought me to Dustwallow Marsh while I was leveling... can I just say... 'hated it' LOL

Then again, my wimpy lil' priest I leveled the entire way as holy/healer... didn't stand a chance without a meat shield... anywhere!

Saturday I explored and quested in Dustwallow Marsh. I hadn't leveled in this area with my priest, so I brought my druid there to level her. Was nice to see something new!

Today I actually cooked oatmeal and added my own stuff to it rather than just nuking some instant oatmeal.

It's not bad. Definitely a different texture!

Wow, you'd never had that before?

Well, today, I got a new message on my fitness page:

*You've gone over your weekly calories burned goal by a significant amount. This will not change your calories eaten goal automatically. If you'd like, you can change your fitness settings here.

;o) And this, after missing a day at the Y yesterday!!!

Tried out orange juice in a can. Someone told me it is cheaper and just as good. Don't think I am sold on the just as good.. but maybe I watered it down too much.

Tried out an exercise using rings today. A set of push-ups balanced on them. Was definitely interesting... especially when I face planted cuz my arm gave out! But I didn't give up!

If our Y ever puts classes at a later evening slot, I might be willing to try some ;o)

Yesterday, I crafted a new recipe... upon finally getting to eat it last night for dinner... discovered it still needs some doctoring to make it more palatable. But, healthy it was!

Proudly dropping the hint to several people... that the capris I wore today were a size M (very proud of this accomplishment, altho' I do still believe they've adjusted the sizing to fit the national average, and it's NOT all just me getting smaller LOL)

Okay a day behind! But did something kinda new for the last two days - didn't even turn on my computer when I got home!

Then yesterday I tried a new restaurant - fish and chips type place. Was pretty decent =)

Well... new/work related... created our first real allocation table in our new software that we're in the middle of implementing. This should account for something new every day for the next 3 months LOL

Of course, there were troubles, because things aren't totally set up yet, and of course... the one 'in charge' of setting up those things, is on vacation last week & this...

BUT I did do something new today. I joined a Crossfit group. Was pretty intense even for just a short couple minute workout. Gotta look up more about it tho.

New place for me today! Traveled to Seward and the Sealife Center there! Was pretty cool and enjoyed it a lot. We went on the right day too!! Turns out that since it was the 10th anniversary for the community, if you were a state resident you got in free! Saved myself $40!

Trying a new 10-bean soup mix tonight... also, explored someone's comments about a Soda machine... and am seriously curious ;o) Their mixes have about 2mg of sodium as opposed to the 35-40 avg in the diet drinks I've been addicted to. Just unsure if I'd care for the tastes, to spend that kinda money for it... But when I look at what I do spend on soda... egads!

The new one in the team goals section. "Experience, explore, or try 1 new thing per day"

Team Goals is a new feature sparkpeople has added to allow additional ways to help motivate and set up different challenges. The Team Goals help set individual goals as well as a combined team goal. So I have added a couple to our main page and am referring to them as our dailies =) To join it (and thus add it to your "Other Goals Tracking", just click the Join Goal and then each day you can track it on your Other Goals page.

I hope that makes some sense?
