I did not to well this month. Over the last 2 months I gained 10#. My pants no longer fit comfortably and I threw out all my "fat" clothes. I better turn this around before I have to walk around naked and believe me that is not a pretty sight!!!!

I got too far behind what with all the baking, bugs, etc. I'll be starting again on the 1st of January. I have lost 3# however, and am very happy with that much. Keep up the good work everyone!

It does get harder as it gets colder but once you get going it really helps. Look at it this way, instead of putting on a sweater when it gets cold in the house, exercise the chills away.

It was in the 70's here today and it made me lazy.

I just found this challenge but know I need to get strict with myself. I really don't like the cold and find it hard to exercise when I am cold. Hope to post at least every other day. Thanks for this team. Today I reset my calorie exercise goals. It is cold and dreary outside, but I WANT THIS. Thanks for the support emoticon

I had a fair day today. Dealing with family issues. Food ok but not enough exercise.

Housework is exercise.

This time of year is hard. There are cookies and candy everywhere. I'm not going for perfection, but in want to track everything g to remain accountable. I had two cookies and a piece of candy today but I did track.

12/14 Starting a new exercising routine with core exercises. I will build on this once the foundation is firmly laid.-----I feel much better and will get the 8 8 ounces of water in today. I feel I will be able to eat everything that is on the menu also. The last couple days I had to make adjustments.

NANCY, Maybe your trying to make too many changes at the same time. Pick one thing and do that. Since your struggling you need those successes to keep you going on a positive swing. Pick one small thing and really make up your mind to get it done. It might get you on a positive roll forward.

Woohoo Pam!! Keep Going!! Congrats on the exercise on Wii Fit!! Woohoo!

I have been the worst kind of sick with a horrible flu. First it started in my throat, moved out thru my bottom, and worked its way back to my sinuses and throat again! IT WASN'T PLEASANT. I just don't really get too sick much anymore- and then this..... kabam!! Was Terrible!

On December 4th- I jogged/walked 1 mile in a race. I think that's what added fire to this sickness because it was 18 degrees out. We were out there a good 3 hrs. Anyway I am on an antibiotic. Which has helped tremendously. Since I started taking it- I have been clearing up. Thank You GOD!!

Today I did feel better- so I shoveled snow for 30 minutes. It wasn't a straight 30 minutes- I took a lot of breaks- but I did it!! YAY!!

Got out for a walk today. It was so invigorating that I really think I need to start starting my mornings with them (so I can do it everyday vs being lax on early work days....I'm thinking 8/9 by the way, not when it's still dark!).

I ended up deciding to switch up the food thing a bit. Tracking was just adding to my stress so what I'm working on is keeping tabs on the emotional eating thing that honestly got me to where I am anyway (I was never overweight before I started eating for emotional reasons). Still exercising though. Work has made it interesting. I walk a lot at work but don't currently have a way to track that....which will change in January. I'm waiting for the Fitbit Charge HR to come out because that's the tracker that I REALLY want and hubby is totally ok with us springing for it (we have always shared finances, any big purchase goes through both of us). For now I'm just making a point to get up from my desk every half hour or so (we're supposed to do walks of the lab anyway, I work in a college computer lab and we have to keep an eye on things).

Drinking more water and staying away from as much salt as I can. This mistake has caused me to stop and read labels. Still have to take a second blood pressure medication. Working hard to get off it when I go back in a month. emoticon

Yesterday I did drink 64 ounces of water but I did reach my calorie range, I was under.

Today I reached all my ranges.

I have drank 64 ounces of water already or rather I am on my 8th glass.

No formal exercise today, just housework.

I had a lazy weekend with no exercise, but I did work out today and yesterday - 74 minutes today! :) Still working on staying within my calorie range. I have tracked my exercise but not food. There certainly is room for improvement here.

Got my walking in (2 miles) again today with the dogs and hubby. Got a little shopping in, lots of baking for Christmas, wrapped and mailed some presents, as well as did some light house cleaning. Did NOT get in my strength training but kept busy. Had my three meals and fluids. So, shortly, I will be getting off of here and getting my "me time" in.

Eating is okay, but adding fruits sure does add carbs. My problem is if I don't leave the apartment I don't move that much and get my steps in. I always find something else to do. If I go out I do fine, thing is I HATE going out, I am a home body. I haven't even been to see my Mom in over 2 months. I was sick for Thanksgiving. I know, I am a rotten daughter, but I do call everyday. I have always hated going out.

Did very well today with exercise and calorie range. Also did very well on my fluids today. Did more baking - getting ready to send goodies out to my sons and hubby's brother who is all alone. I can't say I really felt like exercising today but did it anyway and felt better. Tomorrow is church day - I look forward to that. I will be baking again tomorrow also and will be taking all 4 of our ministers a plate of goodies from us for the holidays.

PAM - Just take Friday as your rest day - we all need one of those days - - you know what they call those days - - "ME TIME"!! Just had to throw that in there. You ate more but still felt comfortable so it can't be all that bad - at least you didn't "stuff" yourself - that was good!

IAMAGEMLOVER - I do not envy you with your shoulder therapy. I remember those shoulder exercises very well - - I had rotator cuff surgery 2 years ago this month. Not a fun time but definitely worth every bit of it!!

BETTERNANCY and ANDREJA - Be sure you track everything whether they be good choices or bad choices. It's a good way of keeping you accountable to yourself as well as being able to look back and learn from those things. You might want to make just one change at a time - something that is achievable and go from there.

NEW VINE - - I know only too well how hard the holidays are with all the baking and I commend you for giving most of the goodies away for the bake sale. Even if you can't stand it with the remaining cookies left at home - - we all deserve a little bit of goodies (I said a little bit of goodies) at this time of year. Just make sure that you limit yourself and put the other ones out of sight.

PAM - Gee Pam, I sound like I might even be getting back into the groove when I use to be on here!! I'd better be careful or you might put me to work!!

Have a great evening and a better day tomorrow!!!

Hi team,
Most of us are struggling with food. Remember to track everything you put into your mouth. Let's stay accountable to each other. If you are finding it difficult to do a complete restart then choose 1-2 goals and work on those first. Remember baby steps. Make your goal winnable. We need those successes to keep us going. Every success is a huge win. REMEMBER emoticon TOGETHER.

Friday wasn't a good for me. Didn't get in the exercise I wanted to and i don't have a reason. I went out to dinner and I didn't cut in half and box half like I usually do. I ate the entire thing and was uncomfortable when I left. I also didn't get in as much water as I wanted. Today will be better. I want to cook and get on my WII and drink my water. ( if I get on my WII it almost guarantees I will drink my water).

Andreja - Thanks. I know it's hard this time of year. I'm trying to keep from gaining over he holidays. I agree with you and will start by tracking everything and not necessarily worrying about being in range. Thanks.

Kelly - It's good that you're not getting stressed about it.

Got my exercise in, tracked it and did my meditation. I'm not doing so well with food though, but overall it's been a good day.

Nancy - at this time of the year it's very difficult to stay on track. Try with small steps and you'll get big results. When I struggle I choose one goal and try to achieve it, all the rest can wait. emoticon

Yes I would like this to be a monthly thread. It has helped me stay on track

Have met my goals but the big holiday with all of the extra sweets is almost here.
The Food Pantry at church is having a Bake Sale . I told my husband I was giving most of them to the sale and only a few of each kind was staying here so make them last, because I was only making the once.

Was under on my calories today but still ate 1362 calories. Was down on my water; at high end of my carbs which doesn't bother me as I have a tendency to go hypoglycemic without warning and I was way up on my fiber which isn't all bad because I also have chronic constipation. Did some exercises today and got lots of walking in (glow getter reward coming) stores and walking the dogs twice as well. I did bake some more cookies today for Christmas presents and had 2 cookies but made them extra small so it was only about 50 calories all together. All in all, it's been a busy day for us. Tomorrow is strength training day for me again.

PROJECTCHRISSIE,
Eating -1000 is not good. Your body probably thinks it's starving which will stall your weight loss. It's surprisingly easy for your body to go into starvation mode. A good indication that your in starvation mode is that your not getting hungry. If you don't get hungry then you are in starvation mode and you should eat more calories about 100 calories at a time until you start losing again.

Eating too little or exercising too much can backfire on you too. Not saying that you're doing either but it's worth looking into. It also could be you're gaining muscle at the same time as losing fat which is a very good thing!

OXYGEN maybe you could fit in a small one somewhere? I find that 10-15 minutes can happen most any day. Squats in front of the dishwasher, parking lot laps, etc.

Stayed quite active today. Did my 30 minutes of strength training. Christmas shopping for our "angel tree" little girl and some groceries 90 minutes as well as walked the "girls" twice again today for a total of 2 miles. Didn't do real well on food/calories today - about 22 calories over but will do much better tomorrow.

I can't believe how great everyone is doing. Everyone is making improvements and many are making their goals. I'm finding it very motivating.

Went grocery shopping on Tuesday. They had a good sale on fruit. A four pound bag of oranges for $1.88 with a $25.00 purchase. Kiwi 3/$1.00 normally $.66 each and I won't buy them at that price. I bought 6. Grapes were $2.69 a pound on sale, expensive but I won't go without my seedless grapes. Somethings you just have to pay for. Raspberries 6 ounces for $2.99 and they were very good. Going back tomorrow for some more raspberries. Crappy weather out today. So I have a good stock up of fruit on sale. Fruit is so dang expensive, I really can't afford it unless I get a good buy. There is a flea market on the weekend where a guy has freggies when he comes.---All that shopping and carrying 5 bags of groceries up 2 floors was 26 minutes of fitness of my fitbit.

Since I was out most of the day, my eating and drinking water suffered. I didn't reach my calories, and I only drank 6 8 ounce glasses of milk. I am going to have to start carrying water with me.

I have done an hour or more of exercise for the past 3 days and tracked my workouts. I'm gradually working on coming close to my calorie range - I might even achieve that goal today! I'm trying to stay positive - it's hard because I had a job interview two days ago that didn't go so well. However I'm trying to move past that, meditate and feel good about myself. emoticon emoticon

I started today out with Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust in him, and he shall bring it to pass. I must pledge daily in order not to get lost in my own agenda.
Two days ago I purchased a treadmill and actually used it for 20 (covering 2 time periods) minutes so far. This is a Wow for me. I don't know what the rest of the day or week will bring but I hope to keep using the treadmill several times a week.
Thank you Pam for motivating me!

It is so encouraging to read about how other people are doing on their programs. I have hope. emoticon

Dec 1 -OK on calories and water and exercise. Even though calories OK food choices need to improve. Using protein drinks to fill void instead of freggies

Dec 2- OK on calories and water and exercise. Make a Red Cabbage, Carrot and Apple salad. I think I have found a good way to get more freggies in my diet. emoticon

I did go over my calorie limit yesterday BUT I got in my freggies and avoided office party cupcakes. I also got in a fair amount of walking.

Today's win so far has been a pre-10AM workout.

1. Did 10 "minimalist" arm and side activities. It is surprising how much better I can breathe while still sitting in a chair and swinging my arms carefully.

2. I have lost a total of 2 pounds over the official 7 day Thanksgiving week holiday!

December 1 wasn't great. I didn't get any formal exercise, not enough water or Freggies and was over in calories.

December 2 was better. I still didn't get all my Freggies but I did take a 15 minute walk.

Hopefully today will be even better.
