For sure it's tough to do it every day! I work 9:15-6 and have a 45 min commute each way, so it's hard to get into exercising at night sometimes. I usually get a full hour lunch break so I always go for a power walk then just to get my heart rate up a bit.

I've been back at work nearly full-time the last two weeks, and it's made it so much harder to get in even twenty minutes. Early starts, not leading to early finishes: 9 hour days, of which I'm leading a training session for half of it. I can't believe how exhausted I am, and it sucks knowing that I'd probably feel less exhausted if I actually managed to fit in some exercise.

gah! I broke my streak yesterday! I spent most of the day flying home from California and I meant to do Wii or DVD yoga when I got home but totally forgot!! blerg

I walked for hours every day on vacation, and I'd been doing well with exercising every day before that. blerg again!

I stumbled a bit last week - I probably averaged out close to 20 minutes a day, but it wasn't spread out evenly across the days, and some days I did nothing :(

Back into it this week though - got in over 90 minutes today, between going to the gym this morning for weights, and then cycling down into town for pizza tonight.

AND... I made it all the way up the hill on my bike tonight. I did have to stop for 3 micro-breaks (about a minute each), but I did it! The hill up to our house is something crazy like close to 50 m over 500m, so it really feels like an acheivement.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm loving the streak! I'm going on Holiday for 5 days, I hope I can keep it up.

Whoa, 14-hour workdays?! Yes you need sleep! If you want to work or on your lunch break, that could count. I wouldn't go to the gym after a 14-hour shift either!

I have already been hitting the gym 3-4 days a week, I thought this challenge would be easy. The jump for 3-4 days to everyday is hard. I skipped the gym in order to get sleep (14 hour work days suck!) so Im counting the sleep as better for overall wellness than the 20 minutes of exercise I missed out on. Ive been having some serious anxiety issues lately so Im trying to listen to my body, even if It means cutting back the frequency or intensity of exercise.

Good stuff! I've just come home from the gym. I did a 90 minute Nia (dance) class and 15 minutes on the elliptical. Yesterday I exercised on WiiFit and also walked a lot doing errands. Having a streak going is fun!

I plan to go to the gym later but its so freaking warm here 70F/21C that I took the dog for a long walk and turned my compost pile. I definitely got my 20 minutes today!

Great idea for March!! Everybody pick their own target area, I love it!

I just got some yoga and bellydance DVDs from the library. My apartment is pretty small but I'm going to try doing some home exercise too. I have Wii Fit and it's pretty easy to get 20 mins in that way even though it isn't the best use of 20 minutes exercise, in terms of calories burned. For more though I'm mostly just trying to get into the habit of exercising every day and thinking more about minutes than calories for now.

I had originally intended to up my gym frequency to daily for this challenge. I usually go just 30 minutes after work most days. Every other Friday I get out of work after my gym closes so
I was thinking how I could make those days work for this challenge. I think I will have to work out at home which I dont usually do. I have a mental block that I wont get as good of a work out at home. I decided to take 10 minutes today to see if I could get a good burn with just my 5 pound dumbbells. So as I sit her with sore arms, I think Ill be ok ;)


My brainstorming also gave me an idea for a March Challenge. I have been doing mostly cardio the last few months. I love zoning out on the arc (ellipitical) machine after work rather than going thought a bunch of machines, adjusting, counting reps, wiping down. When I actually lifted some weights today, I really felt it. I was thinking March we could each pick our own target area and work towards a measurable goal. I want to target my arms, and by the end of March I want to be able to do the workout I just did (struggling with 5 pound weights) with 10 pound weights.

Great idea! I added the streak to the goals section. I deleted the once a week crafting team goal but kept the eating fruit & veggies goal for now anyway.

I just had a look to see if there is a way of setting up a team tracker for this, so we can tick a box each day we exercise towards the streak. I think maybe it needs to be done by one of the team leaders though? Magnolia416, would you be able to do that? I'm ahead of the date line here, so Feb starts in about 36 hours for me.

I'm in.

Exercises of choice will be running, cycling, pilates, weights. And it's summer so maybe the odd walk or swim at the beach!

Hello! Let's try to do at least 20 minutes a day of some kind of exercise, every day in February! I'll be doing yoga, Nia, belly dancing and power walking!
