I don't like competition for weight loss. Too many factors involved to make it fun for me anyway. Now a competition on steps in one day, or one week - I'm all for that. I have much more control over that sort of competition than if my body decides to give up a pound in a set length of time.

This year is all about me and my quest to unload this extra person I have been hauling around.

I most DEFINITELY THRIVE on healthy competition, as it really does help me reach my goals! If it were not for the competition, friendly or other wise, I would be up the creek without a paddle, and sinking fast! I thank God, for the competition that He allows me to enter into, as He's just edifying HIS TEMPLE!!!

Your BMR, or Basal Metabolic Rate, is the rate at which the body burns calories during the day, usually while at rest. You can burn extra calories by adding exercise to your day, but your BMR will generally stay the same.
