I bought a white down jacket last year. After a year of wear and
wear once then it was ready to be washed.

Recently I stumbled upon RIT Fabric Dye in a grocery store. I have dyed many a clothes and fabric in the past but could not find the brand I relied on in years gone by.

I bought 4 boxes of fabric dye, each box contained 2 ounces of dry fabric dye. The old brand I used years ago always held 4 oz. per box. Not much powder for a down filled ski jacket, I thought.... as I dumped all 4 dry powder packs in my wash machine at once and turned the hot water up.

Well......my white ski jacket is not white any more nor is it brown. The fake fur was already a mix of beige and brown. Being synthetic fabric I did not think it would take the dye. One hour later, my white jacket is now an orchid color. No streaks or miss placed blots of different dyed colors.

Satisfaction approved by my friends!
