I forgot about bees when I posted before. I'm very allergic to them and they tend to freak me out. I ran into the fence post at the end of driveway while trying to get one out of our truck. My hubby still teases me about that. Several years after that, he killed a bee that was buzzing around me. The bee's body split in half and guess where the stinger landed? My arm! I ended up in the hospital.

Bees and Wasps

I've had one trap me in a bedroom while I waited for my husband to come home and kill it.

I have a phobia of walking in mud. I get really bad vertigo when I have to walk across dirt that's even a little bit damp.

I'm not afraid of spiders but I have a strong urge to kill just about every spider I see. I made an exception for a writing spider who spun her web outside my kitchen window last fall, she was pretty special. But we get a lot of wolf spiders and they're exactly the same color as the carpet in my house.

I have a fear of falling from high, open places. Ladders, rooftops, and things such as that really bother me. Other than that I am pretty fear free.

I like animals but, I don't like to touch them. I was bitten by a dalmation when I was a child and I just don't trust them.

COMMIT2MYSELF, I've had two MRIs in the last year, and with my claustrophobia I was certain that I would freak out. But I didn't mind them at all. Funny how much these things vary from person to person.

I have mild claustrophobia. It manifests itself worst in dusty used bookstores, where there are piles of stuff around. I also can't stand to have my limbs pinned or trapped in any way. My DH has learned that if I yell, "trapped!" or "off!" he needs to roll away from me immediately so I can untangle myself before I completely freak out.

As a child I almost drown twice, both at the hands of other people. Though I still love swimming, I found that I could not learn to SCUBA dive. Breathing in under water caused me way too much anxiety.

Recently I have developed mild agoraphobia. Going into stores causes me a mild panic attack. Grocery stores are the worst. If I'm with someone else it isn't as bad, because I have someone to focus on. DH and I went to Borders this weekend and it was this weird mix of feelings: the happiness I always feel in new-book bookstores overlaid with the agoraphobia anxiety. I've been assured that this is common in grief and should fade over time.

So yeah. Kind of a neurotic mess right now! emoticon

I don't think it is a far as a phobia but I have issues with heigths...even ferris wheels terrify me, small spaces, and cruise ships(fear of being trapped below deck as the ship goes down). I really thing what they all come down to his control. I like to have control and not be in situations I can't completely control.

One step at a time.

mountain roads with drop offs-story behind this one-you can imagine, no need to detail. A winding mountain road can give me a panic attack!

I don't like to sit with my back to a door. I don't like folks walking behind me without my knowing it.

I have two phobias. Both are related. When I was in junior high, I was nearly suffocated. Not going to discuss what happened. Ever since that incident, I can't stand to have anything around my neck-scarves, necklaces or turtle necks.

I've had a number of medical procedures and surgeries that required me to be put under anesthesia. I've woken up early 3 times while they still had a tube down my throat and weren't done with the procedure. Needless to say, I totally freaked out. I wasn't a happy camper when they were finally done.
