I absolutely love Christmas! It is by far my favorite holiday. I love the music, the festivities, the feeling of good cheer, excitement, and absolute celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. He is the reason for the season. This year I was able to celebrate it even more by playing Christmas music on the piano in a nursing home....my weekly gig and by participating in fun filled Jingle All The Way 5K. I love the feeling of our community coming together at this time of year to help others in need. I wish this Christmas spirit would last throughout the year.

What I don't like is the Black Friday and Cyber Monday and sales promotions which promote commercialism in this blessed holiday. Christmas is a celebration of AMAZING LOVE not the acquisition of Christmas presents. emoticon


Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

What I like least is how commercialized everything is and about how so many people go so deep in debt to get expensive gifts, sometimes for people they don't even really like. And how the stores and everyone who could make money by the holidays promotes this. I love the excitement of the children, and most of all I love the story of what Christmas is supposed to really be about. That's my personal beliefs and if everyone doesn't believe in the birth of the Savior, that's up to them. I don't try to force it on anyone but for me that's what is important to me.

What do you like most and least about the holiday season?

I love the excitement my daughter gets at this time of year. There is just something about having a young child around during Christmas that makes the season exciting for me too. I think what I like least is how crowded and busy everything is.
