Anything caffeinated will be a mild diuretic; I figure tea is better than soft drinks however and I can't drink coffee, and I don't get that much caffeine in my tea--I estimate I get less than a cup of coffee's worth most days. So I don't worry about it. But I do set a timer so I don't over steep my tea, LOL.

Yes, if you crave fizz, carbonated water is fantastic. You can buy commercially made carbonated water--I like La Croix because it has natural fruit flavoring but no sweeteners, whether sugar or artificial sweeteners. But mostly I carbonate my own water with a soda stream and then add a splash of fruit juice.

yes, if tea is fresh brewed and not so strong I will drink it. But in too short of time it becomes bitter to my taste. I, like you, would much rather have carbonated water with fruit flavoring- low calorie and not bitter at all! I believe tea is considered a diuretic, so it isn't as good at hydration that water is. My husband LOVES ice tea. My big problem is I like the fizz of soda! So carbonated water seems like the perfect match for me emoticon emoticon

Colleen, tea isn't bitter if it's properly brewed, at least in my experience. This means not brewing it too hot (which depends on the kind of tea--green tea is brewed at a cooler temp than black, for example), too many leaves, or for too long. I don't like bitter tea, so I'm picky about how I make it (this is why I never make iced tea--I haven't mastered how to make it yet).

My favorite way to drink water is to drink carbonated water with a little bit of fruit flavoring. It's not sweet and has little or no calories, but it meets my craving for fizz without having to drink soft drinks.

I usually drink flavored waters, I don't like the bitterness of tea. But whatever it takes to get hydrated!

Hot weather can dehydrate our body! Lets do our best for the month of June to get in our 8 glasses of water daily!
