One thing I learned is that caffeine can reduce the amount of iron your body absorbs by 1/2! I didn't know that!!
Also, if any one comes across more articles on what to eat to fight inflammation please pass them along!

Thanks for this, it was really informative! I have noticed soy doesn't sit well with me, so I've switched to almond milk. Perhaps lupus is why!

I am a strong believer that certain foods can cause flareups. For me, its the pesticides in non'organic produce and also all the preservatives used in prepared foods. I try to eat as organic and wholesome as possible. Fast food causes me to have flareups.

emoticon I did find that certain foods did cause my lupus to flare more and was very painful too. So now I do watch what I eat. I find that grains are my biggest problems and I have to be very careful with them. I can't eat wheat or corn. Some rice and oats but have to be careful or they too will cause my lupus to flare.
