Yes the Lord is in control of every thing.

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in

Thank you so much for this posts. It's nice to know that the Lord won't tempt us any more than we can resist. Those are great scriptures. I appreciate you bringing them to my attention. Pam

Be the best that we can be at this very moment and we will have few regrets.

Matthew 6:9-13 "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one'

I Cor.10:13 (GN)"Every temptation that comes your way is the kind of that normally comes to people. But God keeps his promise, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist; at the time you are tempted, He will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out."

1. Refuse to be alone in your temptation.

Eph. 6:10-11(GN)Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."

2. Request help.

Psalm 50:15 (GN) "Call to me when trouble comes; I will save you, and you will praise me."

Heb. 4:15-16 (LB) "(Jesus)...had the same temptations we do, though he never once gave way to them and sinned So let us come God...and find grace to help us in our times of need"

3. Refocus your attention.

James 1:14-15 (LB) "Temptation is the pull of your own evil thoughts and wishes. These evil thoughts is lead to evil actions..."

Pr. 4:23 (GN)"Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts."

4. Reveal your struggle to a friend.

Eccl. 4:9-10 "Two are better than one, because...if one falls down, the other can help him up. But if someone is alone and falls...there's no one to help him."

James 5:16 "Admit your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed."

5. Resist the tempter.

James 4:7 (JB) "Give in to God then resist the devil and he will run away from you."

Eph. 6:17 (JB)...accept salvation from God to be your helmet and received the work of use as a sword."

This is a sermon that my minister Larry Keiss gave. It seemed to me that it also applies to our choices for eating.
