I am going to start leaving my Tablet on in sleep mode at night so if I get any ideas I can write it down right away.

Reading helps motivate me to write. I read to be inspired.

I am not really organised with my writing at this time. I jot things down and thoughts and ideas. Hubby laughs because there are notebooks and pens in every room. There is one in his truck and one in my car. Sometimes it is only a thought and other times pages of ideas and characters etc Maybe someday I can pull it all together, but in the meantime this arrangement works for me.

Keep on track

I have more than one creative outlet going. I often find that indulging in one helps to open the door for ideas on some of my other creative works.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Right now I am working on 4 journal books, my weight loss journey, my journal for my tarot studies craft ideas & patterns & a journal book for the Dusty Roses afghan that I am knitting & what else I am doing while making this afghan. I just had to take it apart & now it is ready for me to start it again. Some days I write & some I can't even think about writing when my MIGRAINES get really bad.

Motivation is an interesting topic. Most of us start in a frenzy of ideas and energy and bog down about three paragraphs in. I have a real hard time motivating myself because writing is basically a hobby, but my family and friends are the ones keeping my feet to the fire. My sister is my firmest motivator, and my husband and daughter are my biggest fans.
I have friends who sit and write at the same time every day and that works for them; I have to have a project going to make the writing work. Poetry is a total different animal. Because of the emotional nature of poetry in my life, I write poems when I am sad, happy, angry, or confused. So I guess I could write everyday, hummm, lightbulb moment there. Do you have any kind of support group? I am trying to form one here, to get together, read each others stuff, make suggestions, and yes to motivate.

I really don't motivate myself to write since it's just a hobby. If I get inspired by something and I want to write about it, I put it down as a note until I get to my usual writing place - my laptop in my bedroom. (I know. Bad for sleeping, but at least I'm not in bed when I write! Ha!) I have been writing several fanfiction stories off and on for at least 14 years now. (Yikes!) I can't seem to ever really finish them, though. emoticon

I joined a writing group to make me write! It's working! I'm writing a fictional story. What are you working on?
