Something I read last week that may help with that "it was JUST 2 pounds" mentality:

Losing 2 pounds...drops your odds of developing Type II Diabetes by 16%.

Losing 9 pounds...increases an obese woman's fertility by increasing bloodflow to her uterus by 19%.

Losing 11 pounds...women who weighed 150 pounds and lost just 11 cut their risk of osteoarthritis of the knee by 50%. Each pound of excess weight we carry puts 3-6 pounds of pressure on our knees.

Losing 15 pounds...reduces your risk of hypertension by as much as 28%.

Losing 20 pounds...Overweight women who lost 20 pounds reduced their risk of breast cancer by 19%.

But...don't take it too far, because being underweight has its risks too! Underweight women with a BMI less than 18.5 have a higher risk of dying from non-cancer non-heart disease, such as pneumonia, injury, and Parkinson's Disease.
