Yes, that's right. We'll all be going into our second month here at Sparkpeople this week!

What changes we've all made!

I know that some of us are struggling. The thing is...I know you all hear this one a lot, but it's so true... We did NOT learn to eat poorly overnight. We didn't get used to eating poory in just a month. It took many months, and often years for our bad habits to take over our lives. We are going to have to WORK to change those. It will take months to unlearn those habits, and then more months to learn the new ones. Here's the thing though...YOU ARE WORTH IT. Yes it is hard. Yes you want to give up sometimes, and it's work just to drag yourself into the workout clothes, but YOU ARE WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT. You deserve a better, longer life.

Last week was a little scary for me. I lost 5 pounds. A little too much to be losing in a week this far into the game, but there just isn't much else I do. We had guests and we ate out 3 times, two dinners and one breakfast. As is typical for me when eating out I found myself eating TOO conservatively. Especially considering the extra activity I was getting. I tried to tell myself I could let go a bit (especially having lost so much this week, during my time of the month, nonetheless!), but I didn't listen. It's like SURE I could have had the burger and fries and been fine, but I wanted the salad and half a hot sub, and the treat of the small shake (which I only drank half of and then found out I could have had all of it!). The thing is, I was full and I was pleased with my choices.

I need to learn to eat my normal lunches and snacks, even when we're planning on going out, so I don't end up short!

I used the elliptical a couple of times last week in place of my daily walk, and I added in my third resistance training (core). I have been thinking of stepping this all up a bit now. I didn't feel ready last week, but this week I do.

Now to work on the Health Cooking challenge, in which I haven't progressed past week one yet, because I haven't had time to clean my kitchen! LOL
