OK, finally getting caught up on this challenge! Moving a little slower, but making progress!!!

Week 4 emoticon

Now that I'm finally moving...getting in that fitness....I'm feeling motivated to keep that up. It was such a struggle in Nov. and Dec. and efforts were hit and miss. But I'm feeling those happy endorphins and building momentum each day.

I still track faithfully every day, although I'm reluctant when I binge or indulge in junk food (as I did yesterday). I actually drank soda for the first time in ages...not just one glass but three. And I ate some junk food while cleaning at my Mom's house. My digestive system is still trying to recover from that....the sugar, the acidity caused by the pop. I'm trying to take it easy today on anything that would upset my tummy.

I'm learning more about how wheat (gluten) affect blood sugar, and I'm eating gluten-free more often. I want to make a total switch, hopefully starting this week. It keeps my sugar at an even keel and I also don't crave carbs like I do when I start eating regular bread or pasta. I used to think that only sugary junk foods caused this, but now I'm catching on to the subtle ways food affects me.

Preparing for my walk and doing some more exercise tonight. I'm enjoying several good workout routines on YouTube, including an intense kickboxing circuit with Jillian Michael's. I can do about 75% of it and feel whooped!!!

Food totally on track with sp d plan. Met with personal trainer, then rode upright bike 30 minutes. First non-arm only cardio since I broke the ankle. I am so happy to be moving again!

Week 4 day 3
Yesterday the Dr gave ok to dump the crutches. I now can walk with a cast and shuffle shoe. I over did it and this morning the ankle hurts. Food yesterday was within sp guidelines even with a new years eve party. Today, we eat black eyed peas and corn bread (a family tradition). I have entered that first into the meal plan and then filled it out for the rest of the day to meat the calorie and component guidelines.

happy New Year!

Week4 day 2
completed reading all of the education articles
I've done the seated strength with band workout
I plan to do air bicycles and punches for cardio today.
Exercise is SO much harder without use of one's foot. I don't want to gain any weight during this challenging time with the ankle cast.

Sounds like everyone is on the right track to a healthy life style and getting blood sugar under control. I certainly have to focus to stay away from the dessert table Thanksgiving. Already in the last two weeks I'm up two pounds hope it is temporary thing. Let's all think positive ..we can do this.

I did badly with week 3 because I got sick . I think I will repeat it so I can get it right. I learned I need to stay away from buffets untill I get the portion part in my head and can be consistant with my exercise.

Hi everyone!
This is my last day in week 4. It's hard to believe I am half way already. After a week of doctors appointments and spending time at my son's school I had the chance to sleep in this morning with no plans til noon. Yesterday at the doctor I was given the good news that all my exercise restrictions have been lifted. Dance aerobics, Zumba, and Slim in 6 here I come.

Wishing everyone a great weekend.

Another day another step closer to a healthy life.

Hello. Thanks, I'm feeling much better. Yesterday I went to my family doctor and my diabetic couselor - both were happy with my progress. Then I went for a walk with my husband(he was on his bike with his broken foot on the pedal and walked his bike with his good foot). I really missed our walks together.

Today I finished planning my meals in the tracker through Saturday and went to the grocery store. I also did the treadmill and weights at the gym and took another walk with Mark. I didn't get a nap today so I'm about ready for bed. I volunteed to help with a breakfast at my son's school tomarrow at 8.

I'll check in in a day or two. Hope you both are doing well(I'm sure you are) emoticon emoticon

HI again Kay..... emoticon

I got everything in today. Still have about 18 oz of water to get in me....but since I am up usually till 2 or 3 am that won't be so bad.....

I need to call my doc tomorrow. I was supposed to get a call about a Jan appt. They hadn't called me. I go for my next set of blood-work in Dec. Don't want to have to wait till middle of next year for the results. I take Metformin and OH MY GOD. 3 of those horse pills after dinner. I am beginning to hate doing that.

Hope that you are feeling on top of things quickly . Good for you for working out ! I got hit by the Fall cleaning up bug! I hope that no one else gets it from me. Worked out from Dawn to Dusk. Mopping floors, cleaning furnace, windows and registers. Then it was get the air conditioners out of the window and packed away until the next Summer Season comes around. Oh and the garden needed to be turned over and so I have started all of that work. Tomorrow I'd better get to the lawn and get it mowed the Pups think it is to long !
It is good to be back and feeling like I can keep going with the challenge.
Having some trouble due to a change in blood sugar testing. The past couple of days I have forgotten to take my insulin due to the post meal testing change. Also after my apt I was told to take the full 15 units of insulin with each meal and at bedtime after working so hard to cut it in half over the past three months! I hate getting new people working on my case when they don't bother to read the plan that the doc had set up with me. OH well. I did get all meds into me today and my sugars are really great 110 fasting post lunch was 79 and post dinner was 99 ! Good to see you both here !

Hello everyone in Week 4 Sorry for the MIA last week, just got myself into a funk and my computer just wasn't helping by running slower than ever. Looks like you all have been working rather hard at your cardio's and getting in some Strength Training !!! emoticon

As for the question on a good scale I'm late in an answer I'm sure, but there are plenty of different brand names out there. Look for a good sale one that will let you put a dish on and subtract that weight before you put the food in!

Keep up the great job your doing ! Look at the weight loss that is going on here ! How are the inches going?

Today is day 1 of week 4. I lost 2.4 pounds this week. emoticon Nutrition tracker is getting easier and only takes about half the time that it did in the beginning. I am up to 30 minutes cardio everyday on the treadmill. I've tried the strength training videos but I still am not allowed to do any ab workout until I get the OK from my doctor (hopefully Thursday). Instead I've been been doing mostly upper and some lower body weight machines at the gym at least 3 days a week.

Day 2 and still going. Feeling better than I have in a very long time. I woke up at 7 for the first time in ages. There is a chill in the air and frost on the cars. I catch cold easily so I am gonna wait for the temps to get up at least another 15 degrees to 55 before I go on my walk. Going to see if I can match my walk from 2 days ago. I got in a mile in 10 minutes. I love living in an area with tons of great walking trails and parks.

Had a weight loss from last time!!! Energy somewhat low. Trying to get sleep back to some sort of normal pattern. Stress somewhat high. Getting more exercise will help both issues. Working on it!!!!

Wk 4 Day 7 - Made it through week 4 and happy to be moving to week 5! Today was a good food day although I am under in all areas. I didn't go over in fats or protien today either. I have been making low carb meals and enjoying various vegetables. For exercise today, I did the full Leslie Sansone - 4 Fast Miles video. Today is the first time I completed the whole video. emoticon
I am working on getting better at planning ahead on my foods. Just now getting ready to plan a couple more days of meals.
I am noticing a change again in how my cloths fit. I had gained a little but I only have 2 pound to be back where I was last week. Chinese food was a bad idea last Thursday :( I am hoping that means I am building muscle but I am learning that the fit of my cloths is more important right now and boy are they getting baggy! I am loving it!!
Look out week 5... Here I come!! emoticon

With God all things are possible!
