Still here.....scale is not really moving, but that is normal. I am focusing on maintaining control of portion sizes and keeping things healthy. That is a struggle since my husband does not really believe in the same type of 'healthy' as I do. (lots of red meat and potatoes.....)

Just take it one day at a time.

I'm starting off Week 2 better this time (this is my second try at it). My stress level is high this week but I'm determined to stick with the exercising and tracking my food.

I stayed within my calories today. We had snacks of either bagels or fresh-popped popcorn. I should have chosen neither, but I chose the popcorn. Fruit was not an option.

Just take it one day at a time.

Good first week in this challenge. My scale moved more than 5 pounds this week. This is quite a bit. I cut back on drinking Diet Coke, so my sodium was reduced a bit. I have been watching the nutritional feedback, and I keep coming up short in potassium as well as some other nutrients. I am continuing to monitor these areas as well as take a multivitamin daily. Portion control went well.

LE3INMEMPHIS - - You can't always depend on that darn scale!!! There will be times like the scale isn't budging but it's those times that you look back and see where you could have made some better choices as well as how much better you're feeling, how much improvement there has been in your lab results, how much looser your clothes are feeling etc. Don't be surprised if it happens again, but just keep on measuring yourself etc. It happens to ALL of us!! DO NOT GIVE UP!! Your inches might get a little higher but don't forget that you are building muscle instead of fat. Your body is going through some major changes on these challenges and it does take time for things to catch up. Be sure you keep up with your non-calorie liquids while you're on your trip out of town and even take a walk if even for a few minutes during the day. Don't forget your snacks!!! It will help hold you over between your meals, keep your BS's from spiking and/or crashing and will help to keep your metabolism going at a faster rate.

Don't be afraid or embarrassed when you're feeling down and out to let us know when you do your daily posting!! You are never alone on this journey as we are all going through out own journey with you. We all have those down days. WE ARE HERE FOR YOU because YOU ARE WORTH!! emoticon and together emoticon .

Felt like I had stagnated. 2 wks on SP, 1 wk on Diabetic Challenge and no wt loss. Then this morning I finally had a drop. When I looked back at the report. I had a slow declining slope to the line. YEP! I had been losing wt, but so slowly I didn't notice. My inches were higher... I was thinking measurement error. I stayed because 1) I felt better 2) I had more energy 3) I felt firmer. I don't know how much longer I would have stuck it out...at least a wk anyway. Next challenge will be going out of town and staying on program. Particularly when I have 3 nights to work then travel and work days. If not.... I'll get back on when I get back.

MARYJANE - Are you eating your 3 meals a day AND 1-3 snacks a day? The snacks are very important. I suffer from hypoglycemia with no warnings so I know my snacks are very important. Had you been exercising at the time? If so, be sure you have a snack (protein and carbs) before you exercise as well as after the exercise. Also, make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day. Be sure to keep track of when your lows are happening, what you were doing at the time etc. so you can let your physician know.

The cardio is no problem-I'm on day 24 of walking every day...but I just can't get motivated to do the strength workouts. I feel a little ridiculous and impatient with myself. I'll give it a go again week 2 and see how it goes.

GENNI & LILSUZI - - Give it time and I'm sure it will come down. Just be sure you are eating your allotted about of calories (at least the minimum - however, do best when I eat the maximum) - 3 meals a day as well as our 1-3 snacks. Drink plenty of non-calorie fluids to help flush out the toxins from your system.

Week 2, Day 7
FPG = 103

Not bad, especially because I went to sleep earlier than planned (translation: crashed), then woke up and had a (healthy) snack late at night.

Still, my blood sugar was in a close to target this morning.

Overall I did very well with nutrition all week, but I need to step up my exercise. I've slacked off significantly.

SPIRITSEEKER2 - Be sure to do some stretching before and after you work out like that. This will help to prevent injury to your body. Drink lots of fluid also.
