This has been a long week for me and it is only Wednesday! With all of this chaos around me I was able to get 40 minutes of walking on the treadmill and strength training on my upper body and abs. I have checked my blood sugar twice this week! Yeah for Me! And I'm trying my best to do food tracker....which I was able to complete tonight. Can only think about the nice warm weather I will have tomorrow and will possibly be able to take a walk at lunch outside and watch the HUGE mound of snow in the parking lot melt. :)

Completed week 1, didn't do well on the eating but really amped up my exercise, which made me hungry, but didn't go for the healthy stuff. I have been very, very good about tracking my food, now need to get back in control with the start of week 2.

Finished week 2 with a huge headache and a bladder infection! Ugg!!! I didn't post last week, but I have been diligent in reducing my carbs and trying to tackle this weight loss quandary. I think my body is adjusting and I am feeling less bloated. Looking forward to an easier week 3! emoticon

I have not been to the team for a couple of days, but I have been tracking my food and exercising. Missed Sunday. Doing pretty good though. Even though I have had my junk food, I have actually been maintaining. I have got to get a grip on myself.

Tody is day one of week 2. I have not excercised as much as I should. This week I am going to make sure to excercise first thing in the morning; otherwise I know it will not get done.

I only have one room to excercise in and today my husband and his friends were there when I got home from work, then my kids and their friends are there. There is 3 feet of snow outside and it is below zero, I guess I could go jog in place in the bathroom, lol!

Slow down, enjoy the moment!

Hello All,

I had a good walking day yesterday. Not as much as before but enough. I walked 896 steps. I am going to try and do some walking indoors today. I don't think I will get that high though. When I stay home I don't do as many steps.

Good luck to you all.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm

Best wishes to all!

Mid-week and all is well. I am so glad that I don't have any other things going on tonight. I came home from school, did 45 minutes on the bike, took about a 10 minute nap, made something to eat, and now am Sparking. Nothing big tomorrow night either, but have to leave at 6:30 AM on Saturday for a speech meet. As far as the lifestyle is going and the challenge, things are going well. I need to do my ST yet tonight and I hope to do a little bit of time on the treadmill yet tonight. I hope you all are having a great journey and have a great remainder of the week.

Tracking my food is fantastic. Sugar up this morning. Confused as to why then saw I had two cups of butternut squash for supper last night. Just because it's a veggie, doesn't mean it can't have carbs!

Getting alot of the challenges done this week..I love the car dancing, I do it in the mornings on my way to work, no one can see me at 4 am..LOL

I am doing my marching during the breaks on BL..so things are on track..weigh in at work on Thursday..little nervous, I have a habit on not losing, with my thyroid problem and all..so I am hoping that with the exercise and the new medicine the scale will be friendly this week.

glad to see everyone having success..keep it going!

I lost another 1 1/2 pounds this week and have been doing better with my menu planning and trying out new recipes. I'm also finding some ways to make-over old recipes with less calories, carbs and more protein.

I've also been working with our local diabetes center on switching my insulin to a sliding scale to better keep my numbers in check.

What a good morning!! Just weighed in for my first week. I've lost 2lbs. Did a menu plan off of Spark for two weeks, and starting working on my third. Guess I am on track to meet my goal, looking to lose 20lbs in the challenge.
Worked out at the local YMCA, but probably should have done more.
Going Thurs. Feb. 10th to Frankfort (state capitol) for Diabetes Day at the Capitol. Meeting with state reps. and senators about some important bills to pass for diabetics. Going with the Madison County Diabetes Council.

Hi All! Well I made it through week 1 and doing good so far in week 2. I've been scouting the recipes for new ones to try and have found quite a few that sound good. I'm looking forward to trying these and hopefully finding some to add to my recipes. Will do some reviews later in the week.
Go to see nutritionist tomorrow and hope I get some new ideas and much needed help from her.
I'm loving this challenge!

week one went very well for me, I can't wait to see what week 2 has in store. My husband has also benefited with the program by eating what I do. So far he and I like everything on the menu. I still need to boost my exercise activity. I know it will help with the energy levels, also my blood sugar levels.

Mind over matter. I mind being overweight and it does matter.

Week one went really well for me. It got me back into the habit of checking my sugar levels. I tend to get really lazy where this is concerned. That is now my number 1 goal - to continue to check my glucose levels.

Checking in for week 2! I was doing great the entire week, then I had a death in my family and had to travel out of town for the weekend. It was crazy hectic, so my diet sort of fell by the wayside. I would eat whatever everybody else was having, and cheated somewhat. But I'm home now, and ready to get back on track!!! NO MORE CHEATING!!!!

Hi, checking in for week two. Just want to say that I really appreciate the strength training videos. It's nice to see how the exercises should be done, rather than just read how to do them. Thanks!
