I understand. I felt the same way and procrastinated a long time before starting to walk. My parents were both diabetic. My mom had terrible neuropathy and circulatory problems that resulted in an amputation. My dad had retinopathy. When I think about not walking, I remind myself about the quality of life I want and what I don't want. It's now very real to me. Also, I got accustomed to my walk over a few months and now am okay with it. What I've learned is that it takes time to form a habit as well as eliminate a bad one.

Easy Line Dancing. No equipment needed. You can start with one easy dance a day (roughly 4 to six minutes long) and work your way up. Line dancing is basically walking to music. And new dances add variety. They are also fun at parties.

Have to get food under control, but that is easier than my PITA-- which is I really don't like aimless exercising like walking.

Only up to 3000 steps a day and bored already. Live in a subdivision where the only thing I can walk to are restaurants and stores with food. How do I keep motivated (and moving?)

I really don't like sports, gyms or other movement incentives. Can't afford lots of equipment. Ideas?
