This is in response to "Avoid Becoming a Prediabetic." I understand your situation and the desire to avoid becoming diabetic. Lifestyle is a big factor in preventing problems. Support is so helpful. It helps me to understand that others are working on similar goals to mine. Two areas I am working on are diet and exercise (of course). I find it easier to walk regularly than to manage my diet. However, I'm at 32 days of food and exercise tracking. This is helping me feel more a sense of control.

I recently went to the doctor to review my blood work and was told that I am close to becoming pre-diabetic. My doctor suggested that I try to lose weight and change my diet, since my father is a type-2 diabetic and my older sister is considered a pre-diabetic I wanted to do as my doctor suggested. I started walking and reducing my carbohydrate intake but I need a support system to help me stay on track and always had success with the Spark People community that I decided to join this challenge.
