HI!! my name is RITA, I am not an MD. but following a Doctor's advice is important. I would advise Reading every article that SPARK has on Diabetes then go to WEB MD. and read what they have, some will be duplicates that will be fine. Knowledge is what you need now next go to Nutrition and learn about how to chose what food's are best and what are not. Where Nutrition is concerned the most important thing is "READ THE LABELS". SUGAR, SALT ARE IMPORTANT getting sugar under control is the first, then it follows salt because high blood pressure often run's hand in hand with Diabetes. If sugar is a real bad issue I was an addict for many years when I was told I had to quit. I marked the calendar for 2 weeks ahead and I X out each day at a time. Seeing the day's fly by helped a lot, after the 2 weeks I found I didn't care for the sweets as much as I did before. THE MONKEY WAS OFF MY BACK!!!!! I HAVEN'T LET IT BACK EITHER!!!!!

I'm prediabetic. Diabetes killed my grandmother and uncle. I have done this before and lost 50 lbs. I know it works if you can do it. I don't beat myself up about yesterday.

I personally would just follow; your doctor and not track. Sounds hard. Be strong.

I think it's up to you. You could either continue with the challenge, not tracking what you're eating, or just track your shakes, knowing you won't be meeting the goals the program is recommending for you. I think you can still learn a lot by staying with the challenge now, but it's' up to you :)

I am on Optifast in a hospital clinic. I am allowed 900 cal a day, I how ever dont know how to track that here, can only go as low as 1000 cal, and cant even record the meal substtute I am on. I will be on it for 6.5 more weeks. I will be weaning back to real food one meal the first 2 weeks 2 the second and 3 the third 2 weeks finally even snock . Help! or should I wait til then to do challenge?
