Welcome to the team. You have obviously given some thought when you developed your goals. Good for you. The recipes on this site are often very good, and I try to use a new one weekly. Sometimes they need tweaking due to personal preferences or supplies on hand. Here' something that I would encourage for you. Build in 2 healthy snacks along with your 3 meals. Low blood sugar levels are also dangerous and can occur. I used to have them when I was first diagnosed, especially during the early stages of following the food changes in my daily diet. As the overall blood sugar levels declined, so did the sugar lows. Well, this week, they returned with a vengeance. I was not eating that mid morning/afternoon snack and it hit. Plus, my overall levels are now into the low 90s, so this may be an indication that I should be talking to my doctor about a medication change. We have been discussing the possibility of dropping the Metformin. May be the right time. Anyway, be sure to check out the sections tailored for us diabetics. There is a food tracker for diabetics which builds in 3 meals and 2 snacks daily. And keep in touch so we can support each other.

I am pre diabetic according to my doctor and I thought I should start following my carb intake and calories to keep my glycemic levels in check. I have a ADA Menu Cookbook I used for my mother who was a Type 2 Diabetic and I found I am eating the right foods and types but not monitoring, my levels can spike or plummet and I feel it. So I'm here is to get them at a consistent level daily. Limiting myself to 1500 daily calories and total carbs 240-300g daily. I will eat 3-4 meals a day total 400-500 calories and total carbs 60-75g per meal. I challenged myself to 3 days a week strength training and daily yoga commitment. I will walk 1 mile a day. emoticon emoticon
